What kind of internet connection do you have? Below are steps for dialup. If you a different internet connection please reply back.
1. Log on to you account. 2. Go to Network Connections. 3. Double click the icon for your ISP connection. 4. Towards the bottom. Move the dot from "only me" to "all users." 5. Click OK.
NOTE: This does not work if the network connection
item is for AOL. If using AOL, contact their technical support.

This problem is usually due to parental controls or user application privileges/ network privileges.
The account that can connect to the internet should be the "administrator". In "Control Panel" access "user accounts" and check the privileges. Enable full (or the ones you want) access. "Parental controls" will block internet connections, check to make sure this is disabled or the correct level is enabled.

Why i cant see the messages sent to me?
This is caused by some plugin error.
may be you can not see messages even after reinstalling yahoo messenger.
so...here is the easy way to solve this problem.

1- create a "NEW USER ACCOUNT" from 'control panel>user account for yourself and restart your computer.
2- login to the new user account and go to control panel> user accounts, and then delete ur old user account ( u may want to save your personal folder and files when prompt)( if you want to save your internet explorer favourites , do it manually )
3- just connect your internet and enjoy yahoo messenger.

Cant view the text in the IM box at all
if reinstalling yahoo messenger does not solve this problem...

u have to do this...

Why can't i see my typing in the yahoo messenger when i enter and the people typing too.
This is caused by some plug-ins problem.

may be it cant be solved by just re-installing yahoo messenger.

Don't understand the computer (inner workings) that much. Have a system with 2 users (both me) one caught a terrible virus which stopped everything and would not allow connection to internet. Was able to...
You said you removed the virus.
Then you must scan from spyware, adware etc.
If still not able to go to the internet, use Hijackthis to remove any change made to your Internet Explorer.
RECOMMENDATION:
Once you have your computer working properly again, install Pc Laptop Guard, so you won't have to go thru this hassle again

Your internet setting should same at your primary account..to find out ; Go to internet option and connection tab and the LAN setting. and then do the same in the second account.
