My rear wheel quick release broke on my older (pre 2010) mountain buggy duo. I ordered a new wheel, which is for the newer models, so it doesn't fit correctly, but I read that I can remove the quick release mechanism (this is actually what's broken) and put it in the original wheel so that it fits properly. How do you get the quick release mechanism out? I've tried pinching it together, and I'm not sure if I just need more force to push it through.

SOURCE: Urban Jungle: push very heavy, squeaks

Alex,
You may try removing the wheels, cleaning all dirt and debris from the axel and the wheel, coating both the axel and inside of the wheel with silicone spray. If the axel is badly pitted from the dirt rubbing against it, you can use some emery cloth to smooth it back out before putting the wheel back on.

SOURCE: the brake has broken on our double buggy

We had the same problem!!! Unless you have a receipt the company will not stand behind their product. You can ship it to their main office and it will be fixed but they'll charge you for the shipping, part and labor -- not worth it. I'll never recommend this stroller to anyone -- it such a cheap brake design for a $700 stroller. Disgusting.

SOURCE: I have a mountain buggy that needs repairing

There is an official Mount Buggy Spare Parts supplier and service agent based in Sydney, Australia called Karlisles. I'm not sure which country you are in.

In case it helps their details are:

www.karlisles.com.au
1300 308 435

Alternatively, a good bicycle shop in your local city can usually supply these parts and service jogging prams.

Hope this helps

I'm trying to change my rear tire , i have put the chain in the smallest cog in the rear, loosened the quick release but the tire doesn't want to come out. Do you have to do something with the...

If the quick release is truly loose, from the rear just lift the bike by the left side of the seatstay (or what would be a seatstay if itwasn't rear suspended) and rotate the rear derailleur backward with your right hand. It should just fall out.

Google "remove rear wheel bicycle" for lots of advice in video form.

I am missing a rear axle wire pin in my Terrain mountain buggy.( older model ). Are they still available?

If it is an older model, the best thing to do is locate the manufacturer. They may be the only ones that can replace that part.

No Rear Quick Release

Some less expensive bikes do not come with quick release skewers. You just unscrew the bolts like you would any other using a wrench or socket. The will probably be really tight so you may need to bear down or use a cheater pipe. Unfortunately, these bolt on wheels tend to be solid axles and cannot take a quick release skewer. You would need to replace the wheel.
