Hello, I have a Technics HiFi system - I've had it for 10 years. The problem is that the CD player skips and jumps. I've tried cleaning the CDs but there are no scratches on them. I've also tried those CD lens cleaner kits, but the CD player still jumps. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Its time to replace the optical unit ( lens ) of the CD player. Brace yourself the unit on some of those old players can cost more than a new DVD player.

Technics SC-CA 1080 CD player jumps ,can I just buy any CD player separate and connect it to my technics? It's a separates 'style' system, not sure if its compatible with a different CD player

You have tried cleaning the lens? That might cure the jumps. Make certain your CD's are not scratched and clean too.

A separate CD player will work with your system, I think. It looks like the current CD player will connect via two phono plugs to the back of the system. Since the new CD player will have the same type, just remove the old connections and the power lead and plug the new CD player in the same phono sockets. As the new separate CD player will have it's own power supply it will not need the old one.
No further adjustments are needed. Any brand of CD player can be purchased.

My technics eh770 cd player is skipping so i now can't play cds

If the laser pickup is skipping, it is near end of life. Buy a CD cleaning kit and follow instructions, if there is no change the laser pickup assembly will need to be replaced, not cost effective to repair far cheaper to replace player.

JVC MX-D661T will not play discs 70% of the time

Yes it is the laser pickup assembly, you can try a cd cleaning kit and follow the instructions, if no change, far cheaper to replace the entire player.

Technics SC -HD 501 CD jumping and skipping

If this happens on all CDs then most like the drive is bad or lens is dirty You can try cleaning out the heads using a cleaner disc. If you have a way to get to the lens you can try cleaning it manually. But most likely. It's one of the following dirty lens, bad motor, bad speed control.

My Sony mini hifi component system is going berserk!! 2 problems: 1- CD system skips tracks and on playing on repeat song, the song skips certain times and jumps ahead of the track. 2- Tape system plays...

Your cd player is fubar and in definite need of replacement.
Tape unit seems to have a mind of its won. Try to reset the electronics to factory defaults. If that has no remedy, since it is a sony< best advise is to trash it. Repair cost is prohibitively expensive.

Hello please my cd player is jumping, when you play an audio cd it start skiping

If it only does it on some CD's see my Tip on removing scratches.

If it does it all CD's you need to clean the lens of the laser. If that doesn't work you might have to think about replacing the laser/lens. It might not be cheap either!
