Question about Saeco Royal Professional Espresso Machine

No steam and ventilate

Okay, none of the on line solutions quite work. I have a Saeco Comfort Plus machine and it does not give out any steam. It started by the steam coming out very slowly and then the ventilate message appeared. I pressed the hot water while the steam was on and again while it was off. It comes back and steams for a little while (almost no pressure) and then the ventilate appears again. I tried some of the solutions to remove the water tank and trying to pump through water using the plastic pump and this did not work either.

Prior to all of this, the coffee was coming out slowly (it was inconsistent). We brought it to an authorized dealer to get this looked after and he said that he had to clean the machine (cost me $200 CND). Now this. Can you help?

I've got a Saeco Royal Digital Plus and the machine says ventilate. No steam, no hot water, no coffee. Tried to descale through the machine's function but no water goes through either. Please help. I'm desperate for a cup of coffee from this machine.

    Thanks!

This sounds like you need a very heavy descale. I would use a regular dosage of descaling solution (citric acid) but with 3/4 of the recomended water in the solution.

With excess scale build up the vibrating pump cannot pump water through the water circuit in sufficient volume.

You can use your machines descale function or simply pour off 1/3 of a cup of desale solution though yuor water circuit then leave the new solution site for 5 minutes and repeat until you have drained your water tank.

Here is a great article on how to descale your Saeco Coffee Machine.

Hi,

When you try to get out water, can you get a full cup of water or just a half cup?

How often do you descale your machine?

How do I descale my saeco comfort coffee machine? What buttons do I press? Thanks

Hi
If you have the Magic Comfort + here are the directions.
To automatically descale your machine, press the scoop button and hold it down until you enter the menu. Use the arrows on the left to scroll down until you come to Descale. Press enter and the machine will enter the mode to descale your machine. The process takes about 45 minutes. You don't have to do a thing except mix a full water tank with descaling solution and have a container under the steam wand when your start. If you have a cappuccinonatori on your machine you will need two containers. To start the descaling process, simply turn the steam knob. When the process is over your machine will say "Descale finished". Remove your water tank and rinse it out. Refill it with fresh water. Replace on the machine and start the descaling process over again to rinse your machine. Go back into your menu and scroll up or down 1 to signal descale and enter. Choose "Yes" and push enter so the machine will tell you when you need to descale again.

How do you descale a Saeco Magic Comfort Plus coffee machine? do you buy some fluid from somewhere and pump it through or what?

Hi
To descale your Magic Comfort +, enter the menu and scroll to descale. Push the menu button to descale. Mix your solution in your water tank. Use warm to hot water and dissolve all the solution. Place the water tank on your machine. With a container under the steam wand that is large enough to catch all the water in the tank, you are ready to begin. To start the descaling process, open the steam knob. The machine will automatically start the descaling process and when it is finished, it will shut off and tell you that it needs to be rinsed. Remove the water tank and rinse with fresh water. Refill the water tank and place it on the machine. Turn off the machine, wait a moment, and then turn it back on. Press the hot water button to start pumping fresh water through the boiler. Pump out about 16 oz. of water and then turn off the hot water button and open the steam knob to rinse the steam boiler. When it starts to go to steam, turn off and turn on the hot water button again. Pump out another 16 oz. Repeat this process with the steam knob until you have emptied the water tank. Descaling is complete. Go to your menu and scroll to "reset descale", push the enter button and chose "Yes" and push the enter button. Now it will tell you we next to be descaled.

Magic Comfort Plus Espresso Machine: how to descale saeco magic comfort...

  • The first thing you need to do is go to your menu. Scroll down to water hardness and push the enter button. Use your up arrow and move the number to 4 if it is not already there. Push the enter button. Once it is on 4, then scroll up to descale machine and push enter. Have your solution (NOT VINEGAR) Citric Acid dissolved in solution and put into water tank. Now open the knob for steam and let the machine do its thing. When it is all done it will say "Finished descaling". Rinse out the water tank and put in fresh water. Close the knob and then reopen it again. When it finished rinsing scroll down to "Reset Descale" Push enter and choose "Yes" with the arrow and push enter. This will bring up a message when it needs to be descaled again. You can also see how many coffee’s you have made. It’s just above the Descale Machine in your menu. Descale more often than Not Enough will keep your machine working well into the future.

Warmup never completes, no steam comes out

I think your model only has one boiler, it is possible that the thermostat for the steam could be damaged. or on the mainboard, connection that turns the steam on is damaged(I had that happen on a compact digital).

"Steam" function not working properly on Saeco Magic Comfort Plus

Most likely the nozzle is plugging up. Use a piece of wire and run it through the nozzle a few times.

Steamed milk is not coming out

Clean the steam wand, it unscrews and needs to be cleaned, also, descale the machine once the blocked tube is cleaned. When milk dries it is like glue and clogs the steam wand. so clean it daily after use.

Also, I think you meant to say, steam for milk frothing is not coming out. If you meant steamed milk is not coming out, it's not supposed to do that. Some Saeco's can add an attachment called a milk island but not the magic comfort plus.

Got an old saeco magic comfort 7/8 years old -

You are correct to descale the machine. I am not sure how "decalcification" is different, but if the message is still coming up, you may need to have some repair work done. There are some sensors inside that can be cleaned manually if a descaling solution doesn't do the trick. You can do some work if you are mechanically inclined.
