Hi there. The only way to make brighter scan i by the software. There is no option to ajdjust the scanner lamp. When your software open look in to the options and you will see the function brithnes!
You have to remove the white protective sheet from the the lid. Once you remove it you will be able to scan film. Also make sure the lock button is not in the lock position.
Open the Canoscan Toolbox. Click the Save option. Put a check in the box that states "Display the Scanner Driver". Click Scan. Click the Advanced Mode tab. Make sure Select Source is set to "Platen". Click the Preview button at the top left
Another thing is this can be caused by a faulty FAU cable. One or more of the eight wires within this cable has fractured
Hi,
This is normal for the 4200F and it's just the time taken to warm the scanning lamp up. Once it's warmed up it shouldn't need to go through the process again for any additional scans, unless it's had long enough to cool down again of course.
I've noticed from another answer to an earlier question that if it's a big problem you can change the following keys in your registry:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Canon\ScanGear\8.6\Devices\CNQ4200 Energy save changed to 1 Lamp Off Time changed to 0 Looks like this would prevent your lamp switching off at all unless you unplugged your scanner which would undoubtedtly shorten your bulb life. It may be a better idea to play about with the 'lamp off' key number until it just stays on long enough to not cause you problem.
Try going to CanoScan Toolbox > Settings and reset the 'defaults' button at bottom... this will restore factory settings and hopefully fix your problem... The other error message you can expect to get is "unable to scan - insufficent memory, check your **** space' (or something similar)... same fix works for both! ...Have had both messages on mine, sounds like a semi-regular conflict on some sort, but seems to be easily fixed. Good luck :-)
Open the CanoScan Toolbox.
Click the Save option.
Put a check in the box that states "Display the Scanner Driver".
Click Scan.
Click the Advanced Mode tab.
Make sure Select Source is set to "Platen".
Click the Preview button at the top left.
If the error still occurs, then most likely it will be a service issue.
One thing to check...see if the inside lamp illuminates when you turn the scanner on using the power button at the back left side of the scanner.
Seen this B4 ya scanner system board is borked... the power Supply failure is a symptom.. Probably ya port inerface/PSU ... so it's either shop it or ship it ... :)
