Spray washed outside of the unit with a garden hose - now when I plug unit in, the reset button at the plug immediately trips - I let fully dry overnight but reset still trips upon plugging the unit into the wall - I tried holding in the reset button & pressing the power button on the control but nothing happens - what should I try next?

Obviously, one of the electrical components is still wet or got damaged by the garden hose washing. Until you remove the unit from the window or wall and dismantle the cabinet, there's no way to know what damage has been done.

I'm sorry, I wish I had a quick fix solution for you. But, there just isn't one, short of replacing the entire unit.

P1800s power to the pressure washer. moter does not come on

When the power washer does not turn on, it is either due to no water flow or no electricity going to the power washer. In other words, either a water or electrical problem.
check water flow issue like this
  1. The high pressure hose, spray gun and lance must be connected to the power washer.
  2. The garden hose must be connected to the power washer using the garden hose adapter.
  3. Turn the water completely on at the water faucet.
  4. The power cord should not be plugged in.
  5. Squeeze the trigger on the spray gun.
  6. If there is water flow through the spray gun and lance shooting 10 - 25 feet, this confirms water flow is NOT the problem for the power washer not turning on.
  7. If there is no water flow, perform the following troubleshooting procedures:
    a. Remove the lance, squeeze the trigger. If water flows, the lance is blocked. Use cleaning wire to clean the nozzle tip and try again.
    b. If no water flows with lance removed, turn the water off. Remove the spray gun from the high pressure hose. Turn the water on, if water flows, the gun is the problem. Reattach the gun, turn the water on and squeeze the trigger. Sometimes this unblocks the gun. If not, replace the spray gun.
    c. If no water flow with the gun removed, remove the high pressure hose, turn the water on to make sure there is no blockage in the hose. This is very unlikely but we need to make sure.
    d. If no water flows out of the water outlet, the quick connect garden hose adapter is problem. See Garden Hose Adapter troubleshooting.
  8. For electrical solution check
  9. The power switch was not turned on. Find the power switch and make sure the "-"side of the rocker switch is pushed down. "O" = Off and "¾" = On.
  10. Next, make sure the power cord is plugged directly into an outlet and NOT into an extension cord. The directions do say not to use an extension cord.
  11. Each time the power cord is plugged in to an outlet, the Reset button on the GFCI module must be pressed down to connect to electricity.
  12. Check to see if the Reset button has been pressed.
  13. Next, confirm the small plastic window below the Reset button shows RED in the window. The RED color is not a light but a RED screen that slides into the window when the Reset button is pressed down. Because it is not a light, it can be hard to see in low light. If you are unsure, press the TEST button down. If the GFCI was set and RED was in the window, you will hear and feel a "click."
  14. The RED color must stay in the window once the button is released. This confirms there is electricity going to the power washer.
  15. If the RED color goes away when the Reset button is released, there is NO electricity going to the unit. Try another outlet until the RED stays in the window.
  16. Now if the unit turns ON for a second or two with the Reset button pressed and the power switched on, it is working as it should. All that is left to do at this point is to squeeze the trigger on the spray gun and the power washer will turn on. When the trigger is released, the power washer will turn off. This is due to the Total Stop System (TSS) that only turns the unit on when water is flowing through the power washer. When the trigger is released, water flow stops which the TSS sensed and immediately shuts the unit off. a) So to review, if the Reset button has been pressed and is holding and the power switch is ON, the power washer is supposed to start up for a second or two and immediately shut off. At this point all you need to do is squeeze the trigger; the unit will turn on.

What does F8 mean on a Telmann washing machine and what can I do about it?

I just did a Google search its a drain blockage. You can take the discharge hose off and verify that it is not plugged up. Take it outside and use your garden hose to spray water through it.

Otherwise if that don't cure it, Look at the point where the hose connects, and see if the pipe fitting has gunk plugging it up. If not than its a bad pump.

Hopefully that helps you out

The A/C runs for about 1 - 2 mins. and then the circuit breaker kicks in. There seems to be a short. Could this be the problem or is it something else?

It is more likely to be dirty. If the unit had a short it probably wouldn't start or it would trip instantly. You need to pull the internal unit from the housing, take it outside and wash it down with a spray hose. Let it dry in the sun completely before reinstalling. NOTE: Remove any electronic control panels prior to cleaning. IF you get these wet, they may not work properly after drying. If that doesn't fix it, it could be low on freon. You can get them serviced but it would probably be less expensive to just replace the unit, unless you have a friend that has the equipment to repair widow unit.

Admrial air conditioner keeps tripping it's plug

Hi, you either have a short in a componant or it may be that the outdoor coil is dirty and will need to be washed out with your garden hose. If it trips but you are able to reset it and it will run for awhile, its a good sign the condenser coil may be plugged causing high head pressure. If it trips and you try and reset it but can't, you have a dead short in a control part, motor, compressor, or what. Try washing this coil but be careful not to bend the aluminum fins as this will make it worse. Please let me know if this solves the problem or not, and if not we can go into it deeper.
Sincerely,

Where is the reset button on the Comfortmaker AC-model number NAC048AKC3? Thank you!

if it is a split system that is permanently installed in your house the reset button will always be near the compressor so that means on the outside unit somewhere, you probably wont need to remove any screws to get to it. but before you press that button and think all is well, why did the reset button trip? answer> because it is a high pressure cut off. your unit probably reached over 350psi on the high side line or possibly even higher. that is not good. you may have a dirty condenser coil (outside) and you can just hose that out with a garden hose (pull the disconnect first). or you may have a rotting out coil if your unit is old or you live less than 5 miles from the ocean. Or you may have a bad condenser (outside) fan motor. check that out. if it overloads again after hitting the reset (which this unit may not even have, not all units have these just the higher end ones) well if it does overload again call a licensed ac guy trust me it will cost you less in the long run.

Need to clean coils

A power (pressure) washer generates too much pressure. It will bend the fins on the tubes.
Always isolate the power from the unit prior to opening the unit to perform any work. Remember that there can be both 220 and 110 volts present (main and thermostat), so be sure that you have it off.
For the outside unit, appliance parts supply stores sell a chemical that you can spray on with a garden sprayer, and then hose with a garden hose and spray nozzle from the inside.
For the inside coils, you can get good results with coil cleaner from one of the "home hardware" stores, or from an appliance parts supply store. It is in an aerosol can. This is sprayed on the coils and also hosed off.
One must be very cautious when using these chemicals, taking precautions to protect your eyes and exposed skin, as these chemicals are caustic or acid in nature and can easily burn your eyes. They also foam up in between the tubes/fins and on the surface, displacing the dirt.
For inside coils, you can remove the outside layer of debris with a medium brush and then spray. Fin brushes and combs are also made for this purpose. I usually follow this with another brushing and spray again, then wash down from the inside. Here again you need to be careful. The aim is to remove the build up, and flush off the chemical residue, without damaging your coils. It usually takes me at least two cans of cleaner for an inside coil. I drag a garden hose in the house and wash the coil down in bursts, to avoid running the collection tray over onto the floor. Outside coils are usually clean enough after one mixed container in the garden sprayer. Some aerosol sprays are deemed OK for both the inside and outside coils, and I have used them satisfactorily. Again, about two cans is what I usually need. The key, in my mind, is to apply and flush thoroughly from the inside towards the outside.
Hope that this was helpful,

Our dog chewed on some of the wires, which I've reattached before and had the thing work. This time they won't reconnect, though the unit itself can be run by pushing a button in the unit.

if this is a central unit and the button you refer to is on the outside condensing unit, the wiring is propbably not the issue, the manual reset button is generally a high pressure safety switch, when you reset it if it runs for a few minutes then shuts off again unit you can reset it, you probably need to wash your outdoor coil. (it may look clean from the outside and still be blocked from the inside) shut off the power, verify that power is off, remoave the top of the unit and wash with a hose from the inside of the coil to the outside, make sure you clean all ares of the coil, use the hose pressure to "push' any debris through the coil then rinse the outside, reassemble, let dry completely and then start the system

Daily reset of outside unit

I have the same unit and was having the same problem. My brother works on A/C's and told me that the coils most likely needed cleaning from the inside out because when they are clogged with a lot of debris the system will overheat and cause that switch to trip and so far it has worked. What you need to do is turn the main breaker off to the outside unit first then take the four screws out of the top of the unit, use a flat head screwdriver and lift the fan it's self up out of the carefully taking caution of the wires going to the fan, then take the garden hose with a spray nozzle and wash the coils from the inside spraying through the coil to the outside and then wash the louvers off of all the debris and this should help.
