Question about Braun Syncro 7526 Electric Shaver

Braun 8995 clean and charge stand

The clean and charge stand charges but no longer cleans. It simply shows the blue light on indicating that the shaver is clean. Pushing down the blue clean button does nothing.

I don't have a solution yet, but I have the same problem and I can tell you one thing: the problem is NOT in the base. I ordered a new replacement base, and the problem remains.

So it's in the shaver itself. I took apart the shaver and disconnected the shaver head from the batter and circuit board (as someone suggested elsewhere on this site), but that did not help either. It could be that I need to "reboot" the circuit board somehow, though I didn't see an easy or safe way of removing the rechargeable batteries. (Maybe I should just run the shaver batteries down to 0 and then recharge. Yeah, that's my next experiement. ;-)

UPDATE: Running the battery all the way out (until the little screen says "empty") appears to solve the problem. After I did that, I returned the shaver to the cleaning base, and the blue "clean" light lit up. Then I pressed the cleaning button, and the system began an "eco(nomical)" cleaning cycle.

With any luck, the shaver will contain to be cleanable at regular intervals.

There were several design flaws with the first incarnation of the Braun shaver cleaning base, in the 7000 series. The 8000 series base solves quite a few of them and are supposed to be quite reliable. Sorry to hear that yours is failing... it's rather uncommon.

I looked into obtaining a replacement for my 7000 series shaver cleaning base, but found the cost prohibitive. On mine, the infamous clip failed and would no longer hold the shaver in place (I have to use rubber bands to hold it).

In essence, you don't really need this cleaner. The best thing is to just tap out the whisker debris after each shave, then every couple of weeks use a cleaning solution and brush on the cutter block. But if you really want a replacement, I suggest trying to locate a used 8000 shaver (you can go with the lowest model, not the 8595). You might be able to get one on the cheap, especially if the shaver is beat up. I recommend going that route.

I have the same issue with a 7526 clean 'n' charge base. I could hear the motor for the fluid circulating pump whirring away. The problem turns out to be the motor shaft corroded and broke at a point where a gear should press fit on to the shaft. Motor turns-gear doesn't-fluid doesn't circulate. sigh... I guess this isn't so much a solution as a likely explanation. i will be buying a new Clean 'n' Renew base.

Use your Warranty. Or you could simply buy another one and return the Lemon one with the reciept for the new one.

Does the arcitec 1050cc come with a seperate charging stand as well as the jet clean device?

Originally, all Arcitec models came with a simple charging stand. That part is no longer available. If you need a simple charging method for your shaver, there is a charging/travel pod. It can be purchased at shaveroutlet.com at the link below

It will not hold a charge from the stand but will from the cord directly. it also does not clean properly model syncro 7526

The stands for these Syncro models are notorious for breaking. If your shaver charges direcly fom the cord but not the base, it sounds like there is an electrical problem with the base...probably the circuit board is bad. Parts that you would need to fix it are no longer availale from Braun. You will need to replace the unit. You will find a replacement at shaveroutlet.com. See link below

The cleaning and charging stand is no longer available for this model. However, you can charge this model directly from the charging cord. You will find this cord available at shaversource.com with free shippin in the US. See link below

Try removing the cord from the clean/charge base and plug the cord directly into the bottom of the shaver. If it charges directly from the cord, it is a safe assumption that the clean/charge base is not working correctly.
This unit is not repairable as the problem is, almost certainly, a faulty circuit board. You will need to purchase a replacement.

My Braun 7526 will no longer clip into the razor for cleaning and charging.

If the arm on the charging stand no longer locks down into place to charge the shaver, you will need to replace the arm or you can replace the entire charging unit. You will find both items at shaveroutlet.com. The circuit board on the shaver may have become faulty. One thing you can try is to fully charge the shaver first, directly connected to the outlet, and then try using the cleaning base. Also, be sure that the fluid level is sufficient. Lastly, you may be able to buy a used but working condition cleaning station off of eBay. New replacements are a bit costly.

Charging stand

I just had the same problem, where the top of the charger would not stay down. I tried a spring clamp to keep it in place, and that works like a charm! Try it!
