I have the same problem w/respect to the tv shutting down for no apparent reason. Further, the amount of time that needs to pass before I can turn the tv back on again and the length of time the tv stays on before shutting off varies. Sometimes it stays on for an hour or so and sometimes it stays on for several hours. What can I do to resolve this problem? Pls help!!

This is really a problem an expert would have to look for----could be poor or cracked solder connections or other things are possible---when it goes out does power light go out also?

The problem has gotten worse. I'll send you an email to follow up.

The next time it shuts down (I presume the green power light goes off) do the self check this model has, on front of set press and hold both the menu and input buttons for at least five seconds and release both.

Power light will blink a 2 digit error code like : 1 blink, 2 blink and repeat it several times.

1,2 is no error detected but there are other codes.

Let me know what you find.

Unplug set and try again to be sure but 2,3 is Horizontal deflection failure------means something in your set in the Horizontal sweep circuit is causing it, It could be a bad solder connection or even a Issue with Glycol.

You have Yahoo IM or Skype IM?

I can explain here but it takes of course longer.

Unplugging the set and testing again after it fails will confirm (unplugging clears error memory) the 2,3 error code.
Let me know if I can help, I am here to help you!

SD Tech, My TV decided to work a while.............Yes the green power lite went off when the TV shut off........so I unpluged the TV and pluged it back in after about 15 mintues. When it shut off again I checked the error code on TV ........blink, blink, pause, blink, blink, blink and did this about 4-5 times...... which to me is code 23. Yes I do have yahoo IM but I'm not on here all the time. I'm a pretty good mechanic, but I'm not that great with TV stuff, but I'll try to do anything you need me to do on this end of it. Okeejoe

Very unlikely with 2,3 error---might be a glycol issue

You got Skype IM or Yahoo IM?

The picture on my Mitsubishi WS-73411 TV goes off after an hour or so. I checked the error code on the flashing LED's and I get a 23. Any solutions?

The main power supply regulator section circuit fault. Either it will be a separate board, or the part of main board. Check and replace damaged component/s at its main power regulator [SMPS] section circuit. Contact any service technician. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Pull up older posts.

It will be best to replace the power supply regulator board as card basis rather than making "Surgery" to it; which usually will make loss for both money and time. Even though you can make it right, it will cost around an amount equal to the cost of a new board; including the cost of (spare parts + service charge) More to say, most of the spare parts to it will be difficult to get from open electronic spare part market. This is true to most of the flat panel TV power supply boards; irrespective of its brand and screen size

The other night while watching the tv turned off by itself.

There are two usual causes for this. One is the convergence integrated circuits have failed. The second cause is slight leakage of one or more picture tubes.

My mitsubishi tv model ws55908 will just turn itself off after I have been watching it. It could be as soon as 1 or two hours or 4. it does not happen all the time I can go a month without it happening...

This TV has a self diagnosis feature. When the set fails, push "menu" and "input": buttons at the same time and hold them in for more than 5 seconds. Watch the front panel light. It will blink two numbers five times. Get back to me with the numbers.
