This assumes that you have a basic Kenmore / Whirlpool top load, direct drive, neutral drain (it doesn't spin until the pump removes most of the water) machine.
First, see the Sears parts site for your washer: http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/index.action
Enter your model number (###.######) and you'll see a list of major sub-components with diagrams and parts.
Newer model Whirlpool / Kenmore washers use a Lid Switch as a safety device. Unless the switch senses that the lid on the washer is closed, the washer will neither agitate nor spin.
Older models only used the switch during the spin cycle.
Try to bypass the Lid Switch by removing the Console and jumping the two outermost pins on the switch.
Following is a description of how to release the console for access to the pins.
This is a Whirlpool PDF on how these washers operate. It has a diagram on jumping the switch as well as a detailed section on how the transmission works.
To bypass the switch, you only have to disconnect the power to the washer, tilt the console back, unplug the switch and using an short piece of insulated wire, jump the two outermost contacts on the connector coming from the console and plug the washer back in.
Following is a description of how to gain access to the console and how to remove the cabinet if necessary.
The transport bolts are required to be installed before transporting the machines. This is to support the suspension system to prevent damage to the machines during transportation.
The washer has a capacity of 9.0 kg or 19.8 lbs with a volume of 3.7 cubic feet. The dryer's capacity is 7.0 cubic feet.
the platform where your machine was installed is not leveled correctly, you need to identify which part need to be adjusted, you can adjust the roller height manually or place some shims to level this unit correctly
Water siphoning out the drain line If the water is
continues to fill and water is draining while it is filling or
agitating, Check the height of the stand pipe. It should be about 36"
above the floor. If the height is correct it may need to have an
anti-siphoning valve installed into the drain line. The washer fills and drains at the same time only on the rinse cycle. Shut the machine off
with timer during this period and raise the drain hose. If the water
continues to drain, you will need to install an anti-siphon kit.
Welcome hendrik, You said, jumping around during spin cycle
How old is your GHW9150 washer?
Usually it is overload or load unbalanced due to uneven load. You must stop the machine and re-distribute the load and or weight!
Here are some Whirlpool reasons for you. But if nothing helps you may have a mechanical problem to be serviced!
Try these ideas first!
Is the load balanced? A single or bulky item may cause imbalance. Add more items or redistribute the load. Washer makes noise or vibrates Is the washer level? The washer must be level. The four feet should be properly installed, and the nuts should be tightened against the washer cabinet. As water is drained from the washer, you may hear air being pulled through the pump. This happens during the end of draining. It is normal. Are you washing items with metal snaps, buckles or zippers? You may hear metal items touching the washer drum. This is normal. Is washer installed on a sturdy and solid floor? Refer to the “Installation Instructions” for flooring requirements. Noise and vibration may be reduced by placing a piece of ¾" (19.1 mm) plywood underneath your washer. The plywood may extend underneath both washer and dryer to keep them at equal heights. Let me know If you have any questions and what happens!!! Huuum Please remember to leave a rating!
ckd lid switch ..lift lid and slowly close listening for faint click..newer models have lid switch under top at left lid hingeand will not agitate or spin if lid is open..also ckd motor wire4s to be sure they are snug moving the washer may have caused them to come loose..ck hinge screws to be sure thsy are tight
you just need to refit the transit bolts which you removed when you had machine new. if you have lost them, pack some polystyrene blocks between tub and cabinet so the assemby is held tight
