My dehumidifier is (6) years old. Only used (4) months a year in this climate. Plugged it in this year for the first time and the fan is blowing on high without the power button on. Fan speed control with power button on does not respond to lower speed. Not sure if if dehumidifier "kicked in". Fan runs on high only with power in the ON or OFF position. What's the deal?

My guess is something got into the controls and has shorted the power to the fan. Take panels off of the unit and vacuum, and wipe or brush, with soft brush, as much as you can. Do not use any liquids in cleaning. Hope this works for you.

well if the unit has never been taken apart and cleaned well inside, and it's five years in service , Id say thats your problem, anything thats got room air blowing thru it for five years ,It's gonna need to be tottaly cleaned in all areas

How do I follow up with a KUL 30 pint dehumidifier that is about 1 year old, displays the "EC" code, and won't operate. This unit only has about 6 months run time on it.

I have the exact same problem. It is not related to ambient temperature in my case. Would like to hear a solution also.

I hope someone answers this because I'm having the same problem. Mine is about 4 years old. I thought it was my filthy filter but cleaning didn't change the problem.

Unbearable noise

Mine does the same thing, for the third time. Seems the plastic fan on mine, lasts a little over a year. Not hard to change, just a bad design on the part. I'm ordering an extra tis time, to save on freight.

If the humidity control is not listed, then it is part of the control module, which must be replaced as a unit.
