Please seet the solution below.

I think you are using a different version of liveupdate
ftp://ftp.symantec.com/public/english_us_canada/li...
download LU3.3
uninstall liveupdate from add/remove programs
Delete all liveupdate folders ( Do a search for this)
install Livupdate
do a repair of SEP from add/remove programs
open control pannel
open liveupdate
select interactive mode, click ok
start -run check only Antivirus defintions; check if that downloads..
It should work.
Thanks

My norton 360 keeps knocking me off when i'm downloading my antivirus updates. it will only download about 1 meg and then quits with a message saying download was incomplete

Go into the Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Symantec\LiveUpdate directory and delete the settings.liveupdate file, then try LiveUpdate again. LiveUpdate will repair the missing file with a default settings file, pointing it back to the production LiveUpdate servers.

Hope this work. Goodluck!

Have norton all-in-one-security but won't load

error message actually points to a LiveUpdate problem, which could just be a problem with your installation. Instead of uninstalling Norton and reinstalling it, please try the procedure below.

Please click on the link below and follow the instructions carefully.

Fix for LiveUpdate Error

After you complete the steps in this document, please check that your LiveUpdate settings by doing the following:

1. Launch Norton Internet Security from Start-.>All Programs->Norton Internet Security,> and then choose "Norton Internet Security" from the sub-menu.

2. Click on the "Norton Internet Security" tab at the top of the window.

3. Click on the arrow next to "Settings" to expand it's options.

4l. Next click on "Automatic LiveUpdate." It should say "On." If not please click on it and then click on the "Turn On" button. When Automatic LiveUpdate is turned on, as long as you are connected to the internet and logged in to Windows, LiveUpdate will check for and install updates up to 3 times per day. This is the best way to keep Norton Internet Security up to date and running smoothly.

Receive "lu1803 liveupdate failed while getting your updates" when trying to run symantec antivirus liveupdate

Check with Symantec and ask them whats the problem. They may be having a problem with their server or either something is not configured correctly on the computer thats stopping it.

Full system scan not getting completed

Open NIS and run LiveUpdate. Keep re-running LiveUpdate until it says that there are no more updates. Reboot the system if prompted to do so (you may want to reboot even if it doesn't say it is required, just to be sure everything got replaced properly). Open NIS again, select Tasks and run a Full System Scan. The error message should not appear again.

Error 5 error LU1812 live update error 18 Have downloaded new version of norton 360 on sony va10 computer with windows vista and each time I try to update it does not complete because of these errors. ...

Download and run the LiveUpdate fix tool from Symantec HERE

After you run the fix tool, open Norton 360, click on the "Scans" link at the top of the window, choose "Comprehensive Scan" and then click the "Go" button This will take some time, but will thoroughly inspect your computer for infections

To address your other question regarding the LiveUpdate settings, you can change the configuration to use an HTTP proxy. To do so, please follow these steps.

1. Open the "Symantec LiveUpdate" Control Panel.

2. In the LiveUpdate Configuration window, click on the "HTTP" tab.

3. Click on the radio button that says "I want to customize my HTTP settings for LiveUpdate." Enter the information for your HTTP Proxy server, click the "Apply" button, and then click the "OK" button.

Please let me know if this process resolves the issue you are having with LiveUpdate. Also, if the scan finds any infections, please let me know what is found.
