Yes it should if it is a window unit. How long it runs depends on how much room space you want cooled and what size unit you have. If you live in an area that has high humidity you will want it to run more often to remove the humidity. Some units have a setting so that it is running all the time to circulate air, but the compressor is only on when the air is too warm.

Dont know how to arrainge the settings .the unit runs but doesnt collect water

Hi,

If your dehumidifier run for shrter time and if cuts off often and the humidity in the room is high, try adjusting the humidistat control on the dehumidifier to a dryer setting.

If the dehumidifier seems to run constantly, but there's little or no water in the container, there may be a problem in the refrigeration system. Try cleaning the unit.

If that doesn't work, sounds like you may have a rusted evaporator coil and that has caused a freon leak.it is very common on newer units as they are not made as well as they used to be.when the coil rusts, it will cause the freon copper lines to leak the freon out and then without enough freon it will usually freeze over a few coils and eventually not take any water out of the air.

i would check to see if yours has an extended warranty and then contact the manufacturer to see if they can fix or replace the unit

Please leave me comment , if you need further assistance

Dehumidifier does not collect water.

If your dehumidifier doesn't seem to run often but the humidity in the room is high, try adjusting the humidistat control on the dehumidifier to a dryer setting. If the dehumidifier seems to run constantly, but there's little or no water in the container, there may be a problem in the refrigeration system. Try cleaning the unit. If that doesn't work, you can't repair the refrigeration system yourself, you need a qualified appliance repair technician to do that.

Hope that helps! Should you have any further questions, please feel free to post them here.

Dehumidifier m7dh65b2a

Mine leaks. Had leaked at other times but i took the vacuum cleaner to the front drain spout, that leaks into the removable basin. That worked in the past, but i't's not working now . The water is overflowing at the back of the catch tray and leaking out through the bottom underneath. The holes are clear, so it shouldn't be doing this. I am stumped.
