Question about Brother MFC-845CW multi-function All-In-One InkJet Printer
This printer has worked beautifully over a wireless network in our home for almost a year now. Recently, and inconsistently, when I send a document to print from my laptop it won't print. If I click on the printer icon at the bottom of the screen it says error in the status button. If I turn the printer off and then on, and re-send the document it will usually print...and will usually print OK for a few hours after that. It's as though I have to keep re-setting it. I noticed this all started after printing a large file from a University which printed very slowly (I mean like a line every few minutes). It hasn't been the same since. I notice a blue bar on the function screen on the front that says Mem and the blue bar is full. Perhaps unrelated. Any ideas?
brother won't print od do anything is one of the 4 inks are empty so first of all you have to replace whatever is empty, when you remove it it will ask you if you changed it and if it is a new one you will press 1 twice per cartridge, if you put compatible ink in you will clog the ink head up and then be stuffed

Driver could be corrupt.
Disconnect the printer or at least be sure it is turned off. I'd do both and reinstall the CD software program that came with the printer. When the software program asks you to connect the printer to the USB port, do so and it should again work properly.
Hope this helps. Bud

We have multiple 7820s in our office. This would be a configuration problem with your windows XP computer. From the XP computer, open a command prompt and type "ping x.x.x.x" where x.x.x.x is the ip address of the 7820n. Make sure you get four successes. I would then uninstall the brother software and drivers and go to "printers and faxes" in the control panel and manually add the printer.
To manually add a network printer, with it's own print server, on Win XP:
1 Click "Add Printer"
2 Select "Local Printer Attached to this computer"
3 Deselect "Automatically detect and install my Plug and Play printer" then click "Next"
4. Click "Create a new port" and select "Standard TCP/IP" from the drop down. Click "Next". this will open TCP/IP Wizard
5. Type in Printer IP Address next to IP Address (Port name will autopopulate) and click "Next"
6. If wizard finds printer, it will show you "Finish" button. If you get a "Additional Port Information Required" window, something is wrong with your printer or windows xp network configuration.
7. When the TCP Wizard window closes, it will take you back to Add Printer Wizard. Select "Have Disk" and navigate to the \USA\WXP\Addprt directory on your Brother Drivers disc.
8. Select brxpadd.inf and click "Open" then click "OK"
9. Select "Brother MFC 7820 N Printer" from the list and click "Next"
10. Select name of printer, whether you want a default, print test page and DONE!

this printer uses a 3rd party program to print over the network. try reinstalling the CD software. This will fix it. The problem is that the printer gets lost on the newtork if the router reassisgns it a new IP, other than 192.168.1.66 that it expects. Routers may do this upon resetting. You can reserve the ip address in the router settings, and make it static in the printer, but that is more work. If you can USB print to the printer, this is all that is wrong.

It may some paper jam inside your printer . open the front cover pull out the cartridge and look any jammed paper is there or not. if not the the problem may came from your toner drum.
