WE BOUGHT THIS PORTABLE UNIT 3 YEARS AGO FROM SAMS CLUB. NO PROBLEMS TIL THIS WEEK. IT WON'T COOL THE ROOM. I'VE EMPTIED THE INTERNAL CIRCUIT OF WATER, WASHED THE DUST FILTER, VACUUMED THE 3m ELECTROSTATIC FILTER. THE VENTS ARE CLEAR AND AIR BLOWS OUT. IT STILL DOESN'T COOL. I DON'T WANT TO ORDER A NEW 3M FILTER SINCE I DON'T KNOW IF THIS IS THE PROBLEM. CAN I TURN THE UNIT ON FOR A WHILE WITHOUT ANY FILTERS IN PLACE, TO SEE IF IT IS THE FILTER BEFORE I ORDER A NEW ONE? I THINK IT'S A DIFFERENT PROBLEM, POSSIBLY THE FREON. PLEASE ADVISE. THANKS JUDY

Make sure both the evaporator and condensor coils are clean. After the unit has been off for a couple of hours, start it back up and measure the temperature difference between the air entering into the unit (room air temperature) and the air blowing out of the unit and into your room. You should have approx 20 deg......take this measurement after approx 5 minutes of run time. If the temperature difference less than 15, you may very well have a refrigeration problem. If it is approx 20 degrees, then it could be a dirty coil or an electrical problem.......inspect all of your electrical wires and controls for any signs of overheating.....tighten all connections.

Read instructions and see if it says anything about cleaning or filters. A.C units **** air in and there is a filter that probably needs cleaned.Also,while cooling, the vent to the outside should put out warm air. Also, if it is less than a year old, contact the manufacturer and they should help you out. Good luck.

Portable units are supposed to spray the water on to the hot compressor an evaporate the water! If it is only 3 weeks old ,you have a 1 year warranty. call service and let them fix it for !

The air conditioning unit works, but does not cool the room
• window open • there are heat sources in the room (burner, lamp, etc) • the exhaust hose is detached • air filters clogged • Inadequate size of the room (too large) • close the window • eliminate the heat source • connect the exhaust hose • clean or replace the filters If all this dose not remedy the problem then you need to see service!

Be very familiar with your product before calling. I dealt with a few incompetent people before I got to someone helpful.
