I need to locate the default IP to my Linksys WAP200. The default has been changed and the owner cant remember what it was changed to. The owner cant afford to lose the configuration settings.

If you purchased it yourself from a store then the standard defaults should work. If you obtained your router from your Internet Provider you may need to contact your service provider. It also may depend whether it's an old or new model router as well. And you may need to press and hold the reset button on your router several times before it actually clears. Make sure you have a wired connection then once you have accessed your
router simply run the Setup Wizard. Set your SSID as something you'll remember like "Mavericks Network" and your Password can be something like your phone number for example 3109876543

once u put the wireless access apoint in your network check ur dhcp server there u will find in ARP table the ip of your access point. then u can access it through that ip.

Perform a Linksys reset:

The easiest method of resetting your Linksys router's password is to reset your router back to the default factory settings. This is done by simply holding down the reset button located on the back of the unit for at least 30 seconds. Once the router has been reset, it must be reconfigured. Using your web browser go to URL address http://192.168.1.1. You will then be prompted to login to your router. A log-in screen asking for the password will automatically appear. At this time enter the default password "admin", in lower case letters into the password field. The username field may be left blank at this time. (Note: both the default username and default password are set to "admin" on some of the newer Linksys router models).

As you have changed the default IP Address of the router, you can access the router by using the newly assigned IP (192.168.1.11) and new username and password (if you have made any changes to the defaults).

The default IP address is 192.168.1.1. If you are unable to connect to the router, it is because someone has changed it from default to something else, or there is an IP address conflict (maybe your cable or DSL modem has the same address?)

To restore the default IP address, locate and press the RED reset button on the rear of the router for 5 seconds. All the settings will be returned to factory defaults. You should be able to click on 192.168.1.1 to go to the set up page. Here, you should change the username, password, SSID and re-enter / enable settings for your particular network and of course, secure the wifi.

Linksys / Cisco maintains a support page for your router. On it, you can find links to FAQs, Tech Support, Live Chat, firmware, manuals, etc. This may be the fastest, most direct method to get answers to your questions.

You can know your password without disk too. Connect your router to computer with ethernet cable then you can access it with following default link. http://192.168.1.1 or http://192.168.0.1 or http://192.168.15.1 or http://192.168.2.1 If you are not able to access it with above ip then check your computers ip address gateway ip is your router ip try with it. Then it ask for user name and password. Type user as "admin" and password as "admin" or "password" or blank. Then you can see configuration page of router. If you are still not able to access router with above ip then you need to RESET it for that press RESET button for 10 seconds it is in back side of router then all settings defaults..Then you can access it with above method. . Then click on wireless->wireless security->WEP security there is code password note down it or enter new password then save setting s and restart router. then you can connect wireless with new password. Hughes modems are all set to 192.168.0.1 so simply setting the linksys router to default 192.168.1.1
