That is either a faulty timer control, or more probably a faulty door latch.

I think you need to replace the door latch.

SOURCE: soon as i set cycle and swich on door light flashes open

hi,
The cycle doesn't advance
When the cycle doesn't advance, it's probably the timer or a cold-water supply problem:

It's the timer, if your washing machine fills with water and begins agitating, but the timer never advances--or if the washer is in a spin cycle and the timer won't advance. Then you need to replace the timer.

It may be a cold-water supply problem, if the washing machine fills with water, agitates, drains, and spins, but then doesn't fill with rinse water. See There's no cold water.

Thanks for your question.

Sounds like the front door switch has come out of place, or the actuator is out of place. If you can take the front cover off to get to this switch, you should be able to get it back into place pretty easily. Hope this helps, chad

Whirlpool AWM 8143 - Starts a cycle and then starts flashing open door light and won't go further. Door is shut properly. Tried turning it off at the power and back on to no avail.

This is either a problem with the door lock itself or most probably a motor failiure as the door open light also indicates some kind of motor problem. If your appliance is 4/5 years and above then you will most likely need to change the set of carbon brushes on the motor and this will solve your problem

Changing brushes on whirlpool awm 8145/3. Washing machine stopped working and ''door open'' light keeps coming on and cycle stops. Cannot locate brushes to see if changing would help.

this door open light has nothing to do with the motor brushes its the door switch/s there are two of them try pushing your knee on the door if it starts working again change the switches and the brushes go into the motor?

Washing machines door open light is on, but door is shut

Found it for myself - F7=motor fault. New motor brushes fixed it. This error code will come up if the motor fails to turn on demand at any point in a program, be it filling, in a wash cycle, or spinning.
