Hi.. just had the same problem a few minutes ago and found a solution posted by preciouss_me from the other link..so i tried it and it work. I did reset the button at the back and whoala! it turned on and no files have been deleted..i hope it works for you too. thanks!
Simelar problem to all above plus PC would not recognise the unit when connected. Solved however by going into Device Manager on PC, uninstalling it and then plugging back into PC. As it is all plug and play it took it as a new device and everything working perfectly again.

The battery is at fault. The charging circuit is fine as it says CHARGING. As the battery is at fault you may like to as Samsung to replace it if the device is still under warranty. Else replace the battery.
O NOW LISTEN 2 ME CAREFULLY I HAD THE SAME PROBLEM the nokia charger which is there u can use that by getting a connector the connecter is a small type of wire and it is really helpful u can try in any electronic store near ur house i can try sending it 2 u if ur in india it comes hear for Rs20 now it even charges faster
You may acually have a bad battery. I'de suggest a new battery first, if it says it's charging. The other problem could be a open connection from the battery to the power supply on the board but I'de take a close look at the battery first. Good Luck
well have had my k3 die on me once, pressed reset on the back and it worked again (this in the it doing nothing anymore case) as for the cgarging thing try it on another computer, when I charge my k3 at work it charges all day but I don';t get a full battery, at home I charge it for bout 2 to 4 hours to get full battery. I think it has something to do with ho many things u have connected to ur usb ports or how much output ur computer gives to ur usb, maybe it goes to like a lower voltage to preserve electricity, no idea how to change this but unplug unneccecary things.
Have either of you both tried downloading the drivers for the device? I used the included CD which had also some software which I don't use... Drag&drop works for me!! Anyway-> Try Samsung's site --- http://www.samsung.com/uk/support/productsupport/download/index.aspx
