My Yamaha RXV -2500 started switching audio signals from one componet to another! Example - Sat/Cab sound coming out of the Wii and Wii coming out of the Sat/Cab. I have not touched anything and this happened overnight. Tuner is working OK.

You need to go into the "GUI" menu and re-assign the audio inputs to the correct source. The manual will walk you thru it as well. If you still need further help, post a comment or reply and I can help with further detail. Hope this helps.

Yamaha home theatre system RXV 350 amplifier

Check it without speaker connection. If the set does not go to protection mode, check all the speakers by connecting one by one at a time and switch the set ON; to find the faulty speaker. If the set goes to protection mode even no speaker connected, check and replace damaged components at its audio output section circuit. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. My wii won't play video through my Yamaha RX-V465. The audio comes through OK. I have a normal signal video component cable and i have connected the receiver to the TV with a HDMI cable. i have tried...

This receiver doesn't support processing of video signal, only switching. This means that it can output only the same format of video. Only some more expensive models do upscaling from component/composite to HDMI out.

From HDMI out, you can output only signal that came via HDMI in 1-3. For component out, you can output only component in. The same for composite.

So in order to use wii through receiver to TV, you must connect receiver and TV also via the component cables.

Or other option is to connect component from wii directly to TV and connect only audio to receiver.

I have a yamaha htr-5240 receiver. Also have a 6 speaker polk-audio surround set.Center,2 rear,2 front,& the subwoofer. The sub is a psw-250 with no sub out or LFE.I can't figure out what i've done...

First, look at the sub, their should be a switch for "auto" "off" "on" switch it to "on" Then use the Left input on the sub not the right. Left is for mono. Now, if you still dont have any sub, disconnect the RCA at the receiver and touch the end of the RCA, if the sub is on, you will hear a loud humm. Now, go back into the receivers Menu and go into manual setup, find "Audio" and select "Auto". That should do it. If not, put the receiver on "Tuner" and set the sound to 7 channel stereo (I'm not sure if the HTR series has this) or "Adventure" I'm a Yamaha RXV series Dealer so the names may differ. (check in manual for audio surround settings) Anyway, this should let you know if you've got all your spkrs working. Then make sure your TV's external audio is set to "Fixed" (it may be called audio out) depends on TV type. Scroll thru TV's audio menu. If you still have problems post a comment and I will help some more. Hope this helps

No picture from wii

The RX-V800 switches the various video signal types separately.
Since you are feeding S-Video to the TV the composite (yellow) input from your Wii is not going anywhere.
If you cant get S-Video output from the Wii then I'd suggest a simple Composite to S-video adaptor plug ($5 say). It worked for me with a Game Cube.

No Sound in DTV/CBL mode

Ok... I'm still new to the HDMI input. But I'm going to take a shot in the dark on this one.

Please don't rate me poorly for this, by the way. I'd rather you don't rate me at all as I am not proposing a solution.

This is a guess. I'll be honest about that. So here goes... :P

I read through the manual a bit. (Click HERE for the manual.) I started thinking to myself about your situation...and noticed that you seem to be focused primarily on the receiver itself.

What about the Satellite receiver? Have you checked it to see if you might have to manually switch the audio output to your HDMI output? I know you have video and all, but many devices won't assume that you're switching BOTH the video AND the audio outputs. Sometimes you have to manually switch one or the other, depending on how you're connected.

I would check the SAT receiver to see if you have to switch the audio output to go out from the HDMI output on the SAT receiver.

It has always been my experience that when the speaker icons flash on the audio receiver and you're sending a digital signal to it, the receiver is in fact NOT receiving a signal...
...which obviously means that one is not being sent to it.

Please let me know what you come up with. Again, this was just a shot in the dark. But I am curious either way. :)

Let me know!
