My computer comes on but no display says no signal then display shuts off but computer stays on

Check cable connections from gpu inside pc tower. If you have a second monitor or can borrow one, see if that monitor works. If colours/image are distorted then you may need to replace the gpu.

My monitor has gone to Power Save Mode

Hello,
If your monitor is going in Power save mode it can be cause by following reasons.
>Check the data cable going from monitor to your Dell Dimension 4600 Tower is connected properly. The connector will be blue or white in colour.
>If the Dell Dimension 4600 Tower is powering on.

If still in power save mode then try to shutdown Tower and monitor, disconnect power cable from tower and monitor.Hold the power button on tower for 15 seconds. Then again try to connect monitor and check,if still nogo, and if tower has no lights then issue with motherboard or video card or power supply. If possible try connect spare known good monitor.

No display on monitor when turning computer on

Please connect the cable from the tower to monitor firmly. If this is gone bad, you can change the cable. Please turn on the monitor and connect it to power. You can try to connect this monitor to other computer just to check if it is working fine or not.

My Dell dimension 2400 monitor doesn't work when connected to my tower. It appears that it's off when I connect it to the Dell Dimension 2400 tower, but when I connect the same monitor to another computer,...

Hi! For dell machines when u unplug the video cable/VGA from the tower while the system is on it will show monitor self test.If you are seeing a black box moving around the screen it means that monitor is ok.Check connection between monitor and tower.Make sure cables are securely plugged in.Check if the tower is ok. There is a possibility that your monitor is ok but the tower is not.check the power button (whats the color) if amber/orange, this means there is something wrong the the tower. If its blue or white it means its ok.Also check if you are going to hear one beep, it means system is booting up properly. If tower is ok and you are using a expansion video card then try to use internal one, normally its the vga port above the usbs.If you are going to use onboard video card make sure you enable it first in bios.If all things fail, contact your manufacturer, if the system is under warranty then they will send a tech to check the machine.hope this helps...

Monitor not connecting to tower. it is plug in to the tower. but shows that it is not connected.

three things can be the issue here:

1. No signal from the tower (VIDEO CARD)
2. Bad cable or bent pin on the d-sub 9-15 pin vga connector.
3. Bad signal board inside the monitor itself.

Things to try:

1. another computer.
2. check the signal cable for bent pins.
3. check the video card in the tower.

Before you "think its a bad monitor" you always want to assume the computer first as computers are 9 times out of 10 why the monitor is not coming on such as BIOS errors, Bad video card, bad power supply etc etc.

No signal display on monitor.

Hello,
1. Check all the connections to make sure they are connected securely and properly. 2. Open your tower case and make sure you video card is seated properly by removing it and then placing it back in the slot. While you have the case open it would be a good idea to clean the inside of it out with some compressed air (remember to always unplug your system from the power source when working inside it unless you are a qualified technician). 3. If problem continues, try using another monitor to check if your monitor has gone bad. If it displays ok on a different monitor then your monitor is bad, if it still does not display you may need to replace your video card.

Speakers killed my moniter

Well as you have already tried disconnecting the peripherals from your computer, and tried restarting the computer too which did not help you, it sounds to be an hardware issue with the monitor. However if incase you have not tried this, you can disconnect the monitor completely from the tower, power on the monitor, if it powers on and you get a message as no signal, your monitor is working good. If not replace the monitor. If the message appears on the monitor screen, disconnect everything from the tower, push and hold the power button on the tower for a minute. Connect just the monitor and check for any display. If you do get display, thats good, connect one device at a time and check to see if the display appears.

If theres no display with just the monitor connected, the issue would be with the graphics card. You may need to replace it or get the system repaired.

Computer not recognizing moniter

Resolution set too high for display.

Attach TUBE monitor, Start Windows, change resolution to 1024x768 (MAX) and then hit APPLY/OK.

Also check refresh rate, it is listed in hertz (hz) in advanced settings. Should be 70-72khz not faster than either.

Shut down PC, Connect LCD, you should have a decent picture.
