When I bought my PC August 2006, I added a 256 mb video card fromn-vidia. After 1 year it started displaying blue page telling that there is anerror with video card driver. Since then I reformatted several times untilmiddle this year my PC started to shut-off automatically. I reformatted 2x butthe problem persisted. So I remove the nvidia video card thinking that it isthe problem, but the problem still exists. So I am thinking that maybe it isthe Foxconn motherboard which has a problem. I also tried changing the biossetting but to no avail.
Sometimes my PC turns off just a few minutes after turningon, sometimes it takes 30 minutes, sometimes, an hour, sometimes, 3 hours, sometimes six hours. What could be the problem? Please help.

There is a CD tool called "Ultimate Boot CD" which can be downloaded at http://www.ultimatebootcd.com. On this CD there are quite a few tools that you can use to test your RAM, CPU, Hard Drive, etc.. for problems. Just boot up with this CD and select the corresponding testing program to use. Test each thing until you find the component causing the issue.

Installedmemory now pavillion ze4610 just beeps and shuts down.

Make sure your battery is removed, unplug, reseat memory mods, make sure they are inserted fully. I assumed the 512MB are used? New? There is no reason , that I can come up with, they should not work? I have upgraded many memory mods without incident.

I added a 256 mb ram on top of my original 256 mb ram to make it 512 mb on my ASUS A6500R. how come when i check my system properties it show 384 mb? what's the maximum expandable ram for my laptop?

Check you system information on the net, it should say "it support up to ??gb. Make sure that the memory that you bought isn't it a high density memory, if it is it will only recognize half of the RAM.

Computer will not work with extra 1gb ram

Hi,
It sound like you have incompatible memory. Try taking out the original 256 and test with the 1 gig. Keep in mind some PC requires memory to be paired. If you only have one, 1gig memory chip you might need to get another. I would try removing the 256 first. The specification of the motherboard would also tell you the memory usage.
Let me know if this helps!!

Sdram capacity

its that 512 mb total capacity for your computer memory?? if so read this:
To find the total amount of RAM that can be added , subtract the amount of RAM currently in the computer from the maximum amount of memory the computer can hold. For example, a computer has 256 MB of RAM. If the maximum amount of memory the computer can hold is 512 MB, then 256 MB is the amount of RAM that can be added. this info from the HP website , to find out more , go to http://www.hp.com/support , enter the model number , and look for more information about your computer specs, hope this helps , please rate & thanks AJ

Adding RAM

before you buy this memory stick (ram) you should have check the specifications of this ram memory, they should be the same specs, the cast latency might be different and with different brand. how about if you remove all this ram memory and use only this KVR133X64C3/256, if this works then do not install the other 2
