Question about Televison & Video

2 Answers

I have connected an s-video cable from my lap top computer to my Sony Grand Vega 52" TV. I have scanned through all the video channels and am not finding my computer. How do I go about getting my computer screen to show up on the TV? A good friend is getting married in Las Vegas and they are doing a webcast of the wedding. I am having other friends over to watch on the big screen TV. How do I get it to work?

You are correct. I needed to go to desktop properties and under settings use my second monitor and extend my desktop to it. I also had to change the screen resolution some, but it worked.

This would actually be an issue with the laptop I believe. You need to right click on your desktop and click on the video properties. Then you need to look for the s-video options.

That is just a very general description on what to do. If you would like some more help please respond so that I can walk you through this even more.

Hello! Well, there are a few questions I need to ask so I can help answer your question correctly-
how are you connecting your computer to your TV? Is it a VGA, DVI, or a HDMI cable? How many "input" channels can your TV support? Have you updated the video drivers on your laptop? Answering these questions will greatly increase the ability of a technician to help solve your problem, and I hope to hear back from you soon!

If i am on either AV2 or AV4 watching either sky or a DVD the TV will then change itself to channel "00" automatically after a few minutes. I am then unable to change back easily if i do then it...

A newly designed LCD TV has various capacity functionalities. For example, AV 2 or AV4 are connection capabilities with DVD or VCR recorder device peripherals. Once any devices are connected to the TV, an auto scan is required to acquire adjustment of what is common expection whenever powered on. USing the TV remote control, perform settings fucntionalities to acquire the auto scan to acquire connection functionalities. For example, refer to the TV user guide or manual on setting the TV channels. For TVs that are connected to subscriber providers cable tv or dishnetworks, contacting technical experts would readjust the TV signal receptables to display media. good luck

Can only get channels 27 and 52 on sanyo 50in tv

is this TV connected to a cable box or satellite dish........if so turn the TV to channel 3, and make sure the source (also on the TV) is set to Cable not AIR... the cable wire from the box / dish is going to the TV (in)

no cable, no satellite how about an Antenna... using this format the source must be AIR and you must let the TV SCAN to lock in all the broadcast channels ... (using any other method there is no need to scan for channels you will only be using one (ch 3)

New tv connected to cable, suppose to have 52

With the cable securely connected to your new TV, go into the Menu setup features and tell the set to AutoProgram all cable channels. It will then search for every signal. This will take a few minutes but give it some time to scan,
If it cannot find anything then you do not have a proper cable or antenna signal.

How to run laptop through tv

G'Day mate!

In order to send the picture from any computer to a TV screen, you must have a VGA input on the TV. You can't output your computer signal using s-video, HDMI, or component cables because they aren't designed for computer use. If you have a VGA connection on your TV, then you can use a standard VGA cable. If your TV doesn't have one, unfortunately you're out of luck.

I hope I've provided you useful assistance and that this information allows you to make an informed decision as to how to proceed from here. I hope I've earned a positive rating from you today.

Please let me know if I can be of further assistance.

How come I can play video tapes on my sony video casette recorder, but can not record tv channels on my recorder?

i guess you havent connected it correctly.

Run your ariel int antenna (RF) in on the video recorder.

You will need another (RF) cable that connects from RF-out on the video recorder to antenna in on the tv.

put the tv onto channel AV (or video)

tune (scan) the TV channels on your video recorder.

NOW you will be able to record the channel you see it play on TV

hope this helps!

I have a Sony Grand wega im getting fuzy purple diagnol lines

Try changing the component cable to your Video 6 and see if you have the same problem. I tried this and figured out that the set top box from Verizon component connections may be bad. I also tried changing to a different set of component cables to troubleshoot. I figure its the box not my TV.
