If you are using windows xp then you should download this fix from the microsoft website. http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=C717D943-7E4B-4622-86EB-95A22B832CAA&displaylang=en

If you are running windows vista please follow these instructions carefully.

  1. Click on "Start".
  2. Click on "All Programs".
  3. Click on "Accessories".
  4. Right click on the Command Prompt, select "run as administrator".
  5. At the prompt, type "regsvr32 vbscript.dll".
  6. You will now get a message box saying "vbscript.dll" has been registered.
  7. Reinstall QuickCam
I hope this helps. If not let us know.

The driver in the CD with your purchase of the 9000 pro webcam has some bugs in it. Logitech provides upgraded dirver online to fix this problem.

You should download updated driver from Logitech website:

try uninstalling the software, then reboot, after you reboot, try hooking up just the camera without the software and see if it works, you can also try going to the Logitech website and looking for updated drivers for windows 7, you can also usually use windows vista drivers

Windows Startup with a blank screen after quickcam software

Hmm. It seems as if the driver isnt compatible with your hard ware! (sounds very stupid i know) This could be your graphics processor, motherboard, web cam or simply a combination of all three. Id recommend seeing if you can get hold of quickcam software from another vendor.(Just to ensure its not the software version.

If that doesnt work them im pretty sure that your laptop will not support it.

Sorry to be so blunt. If you have the time maybe you could try a fresh install then install quick cam first. If it still goes black screen it wasnt meant to be.
