Hi there,

You can try reseating the Video Card of the computer and check if it will boot or not. You can also try to reseat the Memories (RAM) of the computer.

Hope this helps!

If you heard a beep sounds it means there is a trouble with your memory (RAM) to fix this open your CPU cover, release your ram and try to clean up your RAM (golden color which will connect to the motherboard) using a pencil eraser, and try to remove the dust from the motherboard. After it cleans put again your RAM to the slots and please be careful to put it on right like it was before. Hope it helps

SOURCE: My Dell Optiplex GX270 continues to go into power saver mode.

It turns itself off when there is something wrong with it. You can check the system events from the bios menu why it does that. When it doesn't boot at all check the abcd lights at the back.

i think this is the problem about your cmos battery so first you change your cmos battery contained in your lap top.it is attached with your laptop motherboard.

I have a dell optiplex gx270 with an internal LG GH22LP20 super multi dvd writer installed. The system does not recognize the device at all. Can you help?

Make sure the drive is jumpered to cable select (CS) and using the original Dell Data cable. Re-seat both power and data cable connections.
boot to the BIOS (F2 at boot)
turn on caps lock, scroll lock and numlock on the keyboard
Press ALT + E (should beep once) Press ALT + F (should Beep Once) Press ALT + B system will reboot and re-detect IDE drives

I have a dell optiplex gx270, tried to upgrade my memory with samsung 1gb pc3200 ddr1 but doesnt work, just beeps on start up.

That is the correct memory module (Non-ECC).

Remove all memory modules.
Insert the one Samsung PC3200 module and start up.
If it doesn't boot, then try a different slot.
If it works ok, then add-in your original mamory modules. If they are PC2700, then they may not work together.

Hey, My Dell Optiplex GX270 will run for a quick second, beep, and then a light with a barrel looking icon lights for a second too. How do I fix this? Thanks so much!

I would run diagnostics. Here's how you do it if the utility partition exists on your hard drive:

Starting the Dell Diagnostics From Your Hard Drive
  1. Shut down and restart the computer.

  2. When the DELL™ logo appears, press <F12> immediately.

NOTE: If you see a message stating that no diagnostics utility partition has been found, run the Dell Diagnostics from your Drivers and Utilities CD.
If you wait too long and the Microsoft® Windows® logo appears, continue to wait until you see the Windows desktop. Then shut down your computer through the Start menu and try again.
  1. When the boot device list appears, highlight Boot to Utility Partition and press <Enter>.

  2. When the Dell Diagnostics Main Menu appears, select the test you want to run.

System couldnot respond after booting dell gx270

Try to check connections between the monitor and the System Unit or what they called CPU. Turn on the computer you must hear 1 beep means the computer start normally. if you haven't, try taking out any new installed hardware but not the video card if you don't have onboard video device and turn on your computer again.. if problem still exist keep in touch.. TY
