I forget my samsonite lock combination. How should I open my suitcase?

We do not have anything to do with opening suitcase ***********

if the suitcase is open, look for a little red tab on the inside. Move it to the other side of the little window, then change the combination. If the suitcase is locked, you will have to try from the outside to find the correct combination

Start at 000 and go up one number at a time until it opens or reachest 999.. it will take some time. .. good luck.

How to Open Combination Lock on Samsonite Suitcase

I have a Roncato hard shell with a 3 digit combination lock under the handle. I set the combination YEARS ago, had a young child play "horsey" on it, and turned all the numbers! The suitcase was locked and I had forgotten the combination. I followed the instructions in answer 2 above and it worked! I didn't have to add or subtract 5. I used a small sewing needle and a strong flashlight - the indentations were easy to see.

You can open combination locks by pulling on them and then rotating the rings until you feel the mechanism "give".

I'm not sure if this would be too successful with a suitcase but it is worth a try. Use a screwdriver to gently pull along the axis of the lock and rotate one furthest away from the catch.
Rotate it until it goes slack and then feel for the next one along and repeat.

Continue until all the tumblers have loosened, when the lock should open.

Some patience and practice needed.

Sure... here're the instructions - open the suitcase, then open the zipper in the modesty pouch (it is mounted on the backside of the suitcase, along its entire length), and then from in there, take out the plastic packet. In the plastic packet are labels, warranty information, AND voila - the instructions to set the combination lock... :-)

I would tell you here too:
1. Open the suitcase

2. Look at the inside back of the lock - you would see a red color tab, and two markings - A

I tried working through the series of possible numbers and at the same time gently pressing the lower part of the lock to see if it would open. After a while I used a claw hammer which I gently inserted the claw beneath the lower portion of the lock and again gently prised it and at first go the lock opened and no damage done that I can see. I have not reset the lock yet.

I can't answer the problem - but am interested as we had an identical failure on holiday in South Africa. We had to force the case open as the lock and the mechanism seemed to have come adrift in that when moving the lever with the correct combination - the case neither opened or closed. I'm sending it back to Samsonite under warranty to hopefully get it repaired/replaced. I rang the UK number listed on the Samsonite website. Bit disappointed as Samsonite should be more reliable - particularly given the price of the case, at £295, isn't exactly cheap.
