Hi,

I am not able to take the snaps from my camera DSC M1. I don't see the pictures in the screen. It shows the black screen.

White screen , no image showing, no menu showing, no image in picture taking

if it takes a picture then it is a broken lcd screen... if it does not then it is a broken sensor and lcd screen... with the menu not showing that has nothing to do with the sensor just the screen.

Try hitting the display button(the small TV resembling icon in the bottom right of the camera). You may have accidentally pressed it while using your camera and caused it to turn off your display.

When i switch the camera on the screen is black ,i canot see the image of the object i want to take sony cybershot dsc-m1

The CCD imager is faulty and it has to be replaced. A well known problem with the M1. Contact SONY and see if they will replace the CCD imager unit free of charge. They did but recently they stopped the free replacement for a lot of models.

There may be the issue with the CCD (Image Sensor Device) of the Camera. This is a known issue with this Camera.
