I have not been able to find any solutions online and apparently neither has anyone else. Clearly the Emerson FR48 wine cooler is a piece of $#!%. It appears the power supply on these is flaky. I can hear a high-pitch oscillating soun and the fans barely manage to spin. If the power supply is indeed the problem is it possible to obtain a replacement unit or would it be wiser to simply trash the cooler?

Check the fam to make sure it spins freely ,, a little wd-40 could help, If the power supply is straining to make the fan move, you will hear that whining sound as its over loading

    whoops, sorry Typo,, I meant FAN!! Just shoot a lil squirt along the motor shaft on both ends

Received apparent error message "E3" for upper
E3 is a fan error. This is usually caused by poor connection to the fan. Remove all connectors and reinstall assuring tight connection. This should remedy it unless the fan is bad, which is very rare!

I have the same issue I am attempting to replace the fan. It is a 120v .09 amp fan so it shouldn't be difficult to replace. My u it is from a different cooler but the same model of fan. Leads me to think this is a common part and a common problem.

FR23SL Uses Peltier Cooling - No compressor nor freon....
Luzer - Thanks for the very helpful solution. My cooler has the problem described. When I take off the back and plug it back in, all three fans run, but the unit does not get cold. Is it possible that it needs new fans anyway (like maybe they are going but not moving enough air to generate the effect)? Or woudl it be something else?
