The best way to transfer video from a camcorder to pc is with the use of an i-link (or fire wire) cable. It allows for fast transfer. You will probably have to get an adapter for your laptop. I purchased a pc card fire wire adapter from Best Buy last week for $9.99 and the fire wire for $36.99. Then just make sure you have some type of movie editing software and you should be set....

Start by making sure its plugged in and charging. most laptops have a light that is on if the cord is plugged in.if its plugged in and there is no light one wiggle on the connection on your power cord. start at the wall and check every connection. if the light blinks than you power cord is bad or the power port in the laptop has disconnected from the mother board. Some computer stores will have a loaner universal laptop charger you can borrow. I recommend borrowing there universal before you buy a new power cord

How to connect my laptop to tv
There is a cord that you can buy that is specifically for this purpose. As long as your tv is compatible, there should be a plug for the cord either in the back or on the side of the tv. Connect the cord to your tv and your laptop and it should work. you might have to put the tv on pc as well.

Bad power cord or bad connection on laptop?
Probably the DC Power Jack which is where the power cord plugs into the computer. Take a ink pen and stick the tip in where the power cord goes to see if it wiggles. If so, that's your problem.

Please describe your how to hook up and compaq nc6220 to a tv. I have tried an adaptor with the three prong yellow/white/red to a video adaptor but no luck.
The easiest way to hook up any laptop to a tv is with either an HDMI cord, or an Svideo cord. It looks like your laptop supports Svideo, but make sure your TV supports it as well. The connection should look similar to this: snowyrat_0.jpg
If your TV does have the port, go to a nearby electronics store, and buy an Svideo cord. An employee there should be able to help you find one for a fairly decent price. If your TV doesn't have an Svideo slot, you should be able to get an Svideo to AV converter cord along with your Svideo cord. You can connect the Svideo to your laptop and the Svideo slot in the converter, then plug the AV cords into your TV. Hope this helps!

I lost my power cord to asus laptop, and my laptop wont charge with other power cords, so do I need to just buy a new power cord? or because it wont power up is there something wrong with my laptop?
You will need to buy another power cord for the exact model of your laptop. You can either find it in local computer stores, or you can search for it on ebay.com (usually search by laptop make & model, & usually buy from a top seller).

Power cord
You may have a broken solder connection - some sort of broken or intermittent connection. Common problems are broken solder connections at the power jack (inside the laptop). If this is the case, the laptop will need to be disassembled for repairs to be made. Note: There are online sites with DC power jacks available, crossed by Model number.

Wiring can also break (external to the laptop) especially if the wire/cord is flexed frequently (like when wrapped up to put into the laptop bag). Sometimes there is no external evidence of a break.

Also, if indeed your laptop has a pig-tale as you describe, the jack where you connect might be worn out- just not making contact with the plug.

Find someone with a little tech savvy, if necessary, and locate the exact nature of the bad connection, and make repairs from there.

Power cord for my HP laptop
it all depends on the value 2 u of the puter
mostly the power cords r damaged do to misuse droping stuff on them ect........

however this can be tested w/o buying a new cord
try temporarily splicing the cord together however alwase supervise ur splice if the laptop continues 2 function treat ur next cord better

Power issue
The power cord might be bent or screwed up. Or option two, the actual power connection in your laptop (i.e. the place where you plug in the cord to the laptop) could be broken on the inside.

Worse case scenario, it could be both.

If it is just the laptop cord, try another connection cord that will plug into your laptop. If it works, buy a universal adapter.

If it doesn't work, and you notice that when you plug it in to the laptop, it kind of wiggles around a bit or seems loose on the "inside" of the laptop ... you might need to take it in to a shop to have a new power connector sodered into place in your laptop.
