defrost timer probably failed in defrost mode go online search for defrost timer location and manually advancing or initiating a defrost cycle , it may pop into run mode and tell you thats what it is , 90% of the time thats it and they are cheap !
You have one of two problems going on. Your fan is spinning at hitting the sides. Or your compressor is shot which seems to be more the problem and even though it is cold the humming sound is a warning for you that the compressor is shot and it is more affordable to replace the fridge then the compressor. Sometimes compressor can cost more then the fridge.
I just had the same problem with the same fridge. When I removed the inside panel in the freezer, I found that the cooling/circulation fan had fallen due to the mounting screws having rusted off. I removed the fan housing to get the screw ends out from the back side and remounted the fan with new screws. The fridge and freezer both work fine now and I'm assuming it will for many more years until it happens again.
