Broken screen My Grand Daughter, while playing a video game, threw the controller into the screen. Cracked glass and and whole screen is now black. Can this be repaired or am I looking at replacing this 46 inch Plasma TV???

Guarantees and/or warrantys do not cover abuse so U are not covered. It might be cheaper to replace the unit than having it repaired.

Well if only the screen is cracked it is possible to only replace the screen but if the necessary part, in this case "the screen" , if it is not available in a store then your mechanic or you won't be able to replce the broken screen but rather change the whole device.

That means the internal glass is broken. Get a new remote

It is broken,The outside is a Polorised film.Like window tint,It is repairable,New LCD screen.But may be cheeper to buy a new TV. GET A EXT.WARENTY!!! will not cover accidents but the new tv's do break alot,and are expensive to repair.
Buy a name brand, NOT RCA "junk" Just a name
no longer a company. Samsung,Panasonic,Sony. If you want to support the USA buy another Sharp. Still a great TV. And made in America. NOTE they make after market screen protectors. GOT KIDS? GET ONE. :) Or even a piece of plexie glass if cash is tight. Hope this helps.

The glass is part of the screen. It will probably cost more to buy the part than a new TV would cost.

I agree your screen is cracked. It's smooth to the touch because you're not actually touching the LCD section of the screen, just the protective coating. The advantage of owning an LCD TV over plasma... you can replace the screen either by going to the manufacturer or some place like e-bay. It's not a difficult thing to do if you take your time and pay attention to the details.
