Wont charge my charger snapped last wweek and i was using the computer usb cable to charge it but that stopped working for some reason. then i started using my brother recharger for his sony ericsson ksomething the charger fits into my phone and it says its charging then after a few hours i turn the phone on properly and the picture in the corner shows no battery then turns off. please help i really need my phone working again

That is about the amount of time when my 3GS stopped charging. The USB charger through the computer stopped working on all computers, and my wall charger for some reason continued to work sporadically. I changed the entire charging dock and that fixed it right up!

This could be due to one of the following reasons. 1. The charger might be bad. Please charge using cable by connecting to USB port of computer and see if it works. 2. The cable might be bad. 3. The charging port of the phone might be bad.

You are right, it doesn't have enough power to turn on because the battery was drained. You're saying that it wont charge? It could only be the USB cable problem. Try to use a different iPod USB cable and check if it charges the iPod. Another thing is try to charge the iPod using the stand alone USB charger. Your iPod requires high power input. If that doesn't work, you may start to think that it is a battery failure.

It probably wont power up because it wont charge. the USB port may be bad preventing it from charging. I assume you have tried both the wall charger and the computer connection and have not had any luck with either one. Its probably the USB port has stopped working. common problem if the USB cable had been yanked or severely stressed while plugged in to the phone

Could be a borker charger port. Thats what I have.

No the device is not defective. magellan has this stupid usb interface problem preventing the unit from being charged and used at the same time, they do that so you have to use there charger. the unit will say usb connected and will not boot up like normal at all. unit will be locked up until the usb is unplugged. most usb devices charge at 5v with 500mA, and the magellan requires 5v 1A. Ipod Charger charges at the 1A with 5v but wont work

mine stop charging sometime ago, and I switched to a nokia 3310 charger and its been working fine since. might be a little tight going in at first. good luck.

Same thing happened to me with this phone and a brand new one (same model). I suggest getting a different phone.
