Hello, welcome to FixYa. I just read your post and based on the info provided it certainly sounds like a control board has been damaged. The PCB (main board) at the back is part #6871JB1280P for about $70 at vendors on-line like "repairclinic.com". There is not much you can do short of what you've tried (unplugging) unfortunately. Let me know if I can help in any other manner. Good luck. Regards, Macmarkus :)
Hello again,
thank you for replying. I will try to address any questions you may have when you go to install the new control, but it is pretty straight forward.
I'll just acknowledge your questions from the last post, " Is there anything else I should be prepared for? Are there any other parts I should buy and have with me incase this does not do the trick? Any particluar tips on installing the board other than ensuring the unit is unplugged? " ...the only thing I'd offer is taking a "snap shot" or photo of the board connections to insure they are all the same.
The main PCB is the power control center basically, so no, you shouldn't need anything further as for getting the unit operational.
Let me know how you make out or if indeed you have any further questions or concerns and I'll certainly help in any manner I can going forward. Good luck.
Regards,
Macmarkus :)

I have purchased the new control board and will be replacing it tomorrow. (This is in a second home at the beach two and a half hours away.) Is there anything else I should be prepared for? Are there any other parts I should buy and have with me incase this does not do the trick? Any particluar tips on installing the board other than ensuring the unit is unplugged? I will let you know tomorrow if this did the trick.
I installed the new board today and everything seems to be working. It powered up and began cooling. On the board I removed the fuse looks to be intact and not burned out? id there something else on the board that might have failed that caused this? I was thinking of removing the fuse on the old control board and soldering in a fuse holder and keeping the old control board as a spare incase this ever happens again.
