Question about Krups XP2070 10 cup Coffee Maker/15 bar Pump Espresso

1 Answer

Machine stopped functioning while plugged in.

We have had the combi pump espresso machine for about a year now. This morning we used the machine to make a double shot of espresso. By the afternoon we noticed that the display was no longer on and there was no response when pressing the on/off button - we tested the outlet with another appliance to be sure that wasn't the problem. Please help - we love this machine and hope it is still functional!

It appears to be the power module at the bottom of the unit. Service centers sell a replacement unit that includes the control/display module. I don't know how much they charge to replace it. Replacing the power module requires comple disassembly of the unit to make the new connections to the thermal block, solenoid, pump, coffee heaters and control module. You have to take good notes on the connections and it could be a safety risk.

When I press the button to select a large cup of coffee the water will run for about two seconds then stop but the pump is still running and the third light stays on. Even when I pull the plug and reset it...

I read a couple reviews on this machine, and it could be that your water pump is bad and need to be replaced.
Another problem could be that the bay beneath the coffee cup is full with water and needs to be drained. I have an nespresso brand espresso machine, and when this bay becomes to full with water, the machine stops brewing espresso/coffee. This function is there to prevent water messes.
These are the only possibilities I can think of. Good luck.

Everything works on my Briel Sintra, but the espresso part!

Adjust the grind on the coffee or the tamping / packing pressure on the grounds.

You may be in the descale mode. Try removing the water tank when the pump is running and see if the pump stops.

Not building pressue

Water damage to the flow meter can cause the machine to not function at all. We have seen water leaking from the water tank leaks right on the flow meter and stops the machine from heating and contining its start up proceedure.

Spidem Trevi-the water is not traveling through the machine to allow the machine to make the espresso.

hi, i have a trevi i bought used with no manual and had problems starting with it, i found an airlock stopping water flowing, i held the water bin over the sink and pressed the valve on the bottom until water flowed out, i do this now when filling the bin and have not had any problems so far. i am still trying to find a copy of manual. i hope this may be your problem as it is easy to remedy. col.
