I have a RCA M4204-R MP3 player that wouldn’t turn on. I assumed my battery was low, so plugged my player in to my PC via the USB cable, only to fine the battery was fine. When I unplugged my MP3 player from the PC, and pressed the on button (as such) nothing happened! No lights, no music, no menu, etc.Could you help me please, I really am at a loss what to do. By the way, it hasn’t been dropped, gotten wet or excessive heat applied, it really did just not turn on.
Recently i was adding some songs to my mp3.It began to show that it needed charging,so i put it to charge. The next day when i woke up i began to turn it on but it would not come on so i thought it was the USB cable.I really don't know what to do i have it right here beside me.Recently i was adding some songs to my mp3.It began to show that it needed charging,so i put it to charge. The next day when i woke up i began to turn it on but it would not come on so i thought it was the USB cable.I really don't know what to do i have it right here beside me.

The most common cause is a flat battery. There is a trick to charging
the battery in these small mp3 players. It wont charge if it is turned
on, and it won't charges if it's turned off. Here what to do... 1. plug the payer into your USB port. or wall charger 2. switch thje palyer on using the mechanical switch (on the side) 3. turn it off by either holding down the play button, or selecting
"System" from the menu 4. The screen will go black and the battery will begin charging.
Held the play pause button while plugging in the player to computer so computer will recognize the player even though it isn't on. Downloaded and updated the player off RCA site, which whiped out the memory but now it works at least, took about 10 min completely.
Completely charged it and it is working fine.
1 hold down power button for 15 sec plug it into usb for pc. 2 Get the latest firmware update at RCA website http://www.rcaaudiovideo.com/categories.aspx?product=317&post=4 3 reboot pc while RCA is still plugged into the usb device. 4 That fixed mine good luck.
One plug it to the usb device of your computer Hold down power button for 10 seconds. Go to the RCA website and download the latest firmware. Install the firmware and windows will find the player. Keep it into the usb till its fully charged.
On the back of the the mp3 player is a reset switch. Hold that down about 15 seconds. If that does not work go to the RCA website. Download the latest firmware. Plug mp3 player into pc. Install the new firmware. Keep it plug to computer for about 1 hour to charge the battery alittle.
plug it to usb device of your computer that will charge the battery Keep it pluged in and goto the RCA website and download the firmware. After you download the firmware. Go to the spot that it downloaded to and click the updated firmware. (do not remove the mp3 player from the usb device of your computer) After the new firmware is installed it will work like new.
