Power Shuts off after 30-45 minutes

I replaced with a power supply purchased at Best Buy Parts Search. Unfortunately, it produced the same symptom, and that is the LCD TV will shut off after power will shut off after 30 minutes or less this time around. I question the ps board as the person at the other end said the ps board that I'm getting works with other Akai models. In any case, the new ps board did not change anything.

Is it possible for the main board (or mother board) to go defective somewhere. Do you know where I can purchase the parts for the Akai LCT3285A. Appreciate your response. Thanks.

I will say that the part that you bought could have been removed from another LCD and it might not be working properly due to components that become defective when they overheat.
It looks like there are not service parts or they are difficult to find.
Most power supplies I've repaired have components that failed after about 1500 hours of use.
The only way to get the LCD working is to repair the power supply to the component level instead of swapping it.
In about 95% of the time the power board is defective.
Let me know if you need further assistance.

Samsung TV...Turn on tv, it operates for maybe a minute, then shuts itself off and has a consistant clicking pattern, like a relay switch. Sometimes turns itself back on

Not knowing the specific model for your Samsung TV and how old it is, I can only offer this possibility because I've encountered what sounds like the same problem. Certain models of Samsung HDTVs around 3-4 years back have a design problem with their power supplies - they put in the wrong size capacitors (aka "Caps"). After a few years, the capacitors fail, and the power supply also fails. I think it's possible to replace individual capacitors, but most likely you will have to replace the power supply. Unfortunately if it's out of warranty, it will cost several hundred dollars, especially for a home / onsite visit. There is a visible symptom - from 2-6 capacitors on the power supply board will bulge out, as shown in this pic:digizen.jpg
You might try calling Samsung customer service and tell them you are aware of problems with their power supply design, and try to get them to repair the TV for free, especially if you are just out of warranty.

Computer wont turn on, power light in back goes out when you press power,

Hello and thank you for using Fixya's services.

You will need to replace the power supply unit in your desktop. These can go out due to dust, power surges or other faulty hardware.

Go to manufacturers website and look up replacement part. Go to ebay and run a search for power supply. You will pay 75% less than purchasing from OEM by getting from eBay.

Once you get the power supply in, unplug the computer, open the case and make sure you are grounded. Get a pen and paper and make note of where the power supply ends lead to (this will make the installation of the new power supply less complicated). Double check everything before plugging in.

Please let me know if you have any questions.
