There could be a problem on your adaptor itself, try holding the coonector that runs through your adapter to your printer till the last end and slowly moved the wire if there is any sign of life the re must be a loosed connection inside,

or try to connect to a different wall outlet.

Have you checked for a paper jam?
I would do that first then I would disconnect the printer and leave it off for a few minutes then reconnect and see if it will reset itself. let me know what happens.

Blinking red warning light

Normal 0 Could have a corrupt driver.
Disconnect the printer or at least be sure it is turned off. I'd do both and when the CD software program asks you to connect the printer to the USB port, do so and it should again work properly.
Hope this helps. Bud

Printerndoes not respond

I thought my printer died on me, but it turned out it was a simple paper jam. The whole printer just locked up because of a paper jam! All I had to do was open the top compartment, remove the toner and get rid of the paper jam

The printer apear to be dead!

Buttons and lights on the printer Two buttons and three lights are located on the front of an HP Deskjet printer.
  • The lights tell when the printer is working or when it needs attention.
  • The buttons help control the printer.
Buttons and lights Purpose c00123886.jpg POWER button and light Push the POWER button to turn the printer off and on. When lit, the light shows that the printer is turned on. c00123889.jpg RESUME button and light The light blinks when there is a problem with paper. When the problem is corrected, press the button. c00123892.jpg Print cartridge light The light blinks when there is a problem with a print cartridge. When the problem is corrected and the top cover is closed, the light will stop blinking. Troubleshooting blinking printer lights Blinking lights Reason c00123895.jpg

All lights are off. The printer is off (asleep).

Press the POWER buttonc00123886.jpg to turn the printer on.

The printer should turn on automatically when a print job is sent to it. c00123898.jpg

The POWER (top) light is on. The printer is idle.

The printer is ready to print a document. c00123900.jpg

The POWER (top) light is blinking. The printer is busy printing.

Allow enough time to print. When a document has many fonts or graphics or uses complex color such as a color photo, it takes longer to begin printing. c00123902.jpg

The PRINT CARTRIDGE (bottom) light is blinking. Possible causes:

  • The front cover is open. Make sure the front cover is completely closed.
  • The print cartridge is missing. Make sure the print cartridge has been installed correctly.
  • The print cartridge is broken or incompatible. Lift the front cover, and wait for the print-cartridge cradle to slide out. Check the part numbers on the print cartridge:

Black: 51645A

Color: C1823D,

If the print cartridges are compatible and correctly installed, they may be defective. Try replacing the print cartridges.

If none of the above suggestions fix the problem, and, if the error message still occurs, it may be a hardware failure. Call the HP Customer Support Center.

On/off button blinking

Did you check your particular models warning lights page? Maybe your head cleaner is full or the printer needs maintenance. Take a look at your printer manual to see what the warning lights signify. Sometimes printers reset if you remove the plug from the back then push the power button and plug it in again while your still pushing the power button. Then you can try turning it back on normally again...
