I have an acer aspire one notebook any time i tur on the laptop appears "BOOTMGR is missing press Ctrl+Alt+Del to restar" . I restrted but the same message appears again.. help plz

Have you tried a System Restore/Recovery? Can you boot to safe mode? Try the restore/Recovery procedure: Shut down, unplug, remove battery, plug in, push the on button and When Acer splash is on screen hold Alt and keep pressing F10...

This sounds like a hard drive failure, try your recovery disc if available, if no change! have the hardware checked for possible replacement.

You have a hard drive error by the sounds of it. Press F8 as it boots, you should be able to get into Safe mode and then recovery mode.

1.Insert the Windows XP CD-ROM into the CD drive, and then restart the computer.
2.Click to select any options that are required to start the computer from the CD drive if you are prompted.
3.When the "Welcome to Setup" screen appears, press R to start the Recovery Console.
4.Press 1 (One) to select windows XP and then hit enter.
5.When you are prompted, type the Administrator password. If the administrator password is blank, just press ENTER.

sounds like something got hosed up......use the recovery partition and reload windows....easiest thing to do....Good luck...

Have them load whatever OS you lost to them, if you have the OS cd, try installing it yourself.

first u go to bios settings and change first bootdevice cdrom and reboot system u put winxp cd in cd drive

u will see this message


press any key to boot from cd


u press any key


winxp setup start automatically



and repair winxp



som case hardisk partition probelm , that case u will format drive and re install winxp

Hi, Cant answer your first question but i can for question #2. boot from the windows vista CD and run startup repair. that should fix the problem.
