I just bought a Motorola A1200 phone and I cannot receive incoming
calls. When ever someone tries to call me, my phone doesn't ring at all
and I have the volume all the way up. My phone tells me that someone
has called or if someone leaves a message, but it does not ring when
there is an incoming call. Please help!!!!
Your problem is most likely due to an inherent problem with the Motorola A1200s with receiving Name caller ID. While the Ming has no trouble with digits, it acts quite funny when receiving data for named caller ID.
Call your service provider and tell them to discontinue name caller ID (you can still maintain, as far as I have seen, numerical caller ID). Your issues should end.

The call barring facility should be provided by Mobile network company then only you can stop incoming calls to your mobile. If the network company doesnt provides that facility you cant do anything from mobile phone.
yeah it's because i think you have the "name display" feature offered by Fido/Rogers i got the same problem lol.
Call them up and tell them to take it off or change your package.
a1200 doesn't support the "Name Display" feature.
