Take the top of your VCR off keeping mind of where the screws came from, by the front of the tape there will be a gear wheel called the elevator wheel. After you have carefully unlooped the tape from the head, turn the elevator wheel, and you will be able to remove the tape then. Simply spool the tape back up and replace the cover.

Vhs tape wont go in all the way

Hello, Shirley -

I suspect something is stuck inside the video tape slot. The video tape player will need to be opened to determine if something is stuck inside.

Years ago, when my niece's son was a toddler, my niece and her son were going to visit me, so I child proofed my home, including installing covers to all of the electric outlets which were in "toddler range." After they left, I was unable to insert a video tape in my machine. I took it to a business to have the machine repaired. The repair technician found an electric outlet cover had been inserted in the video tape slot and that blocked any video tape from being inserted.

If you can, with a flashlight, open the flap of the video tape slot and peer inside. Perhaps you can see some foreign object which might have been pushed inside.

You can chose to remove the video tape player cover yourself (ignoring the "do not open" warnings which may be printed on it) to see if something is stuck inside, or you can take it to a TV / Video repair business and pay to have the video tape player checked out (and perhaps repaired, if needed.)

Best wishes.

Tape keeps ejecting

You can check tape player for any type of object lodged in it. Maybe unplug and turn upside down to here anything inside. Or even any broken tape that come off inside. The only other thing is that the belts inside are worn and will not put device back in play mode.

I experience problems with my VCR. A tape got stuck. After I removed the tape, it comes up with an error message F03

If you have children who can access the machine, unplug it, turn it upside down and listen for any rattles or loose bits inside. Kids are notorious for 'posting' coins, half eaten snacks and the like into the 'letter box'. Any loose objects, particularly metal, MUST be removed before switching on again. If a tape has become damaged, bits left inside the machine, it will have to opened up to remove the debris and ensure that the tape transport path including all rollers etc are cleared.

How to eject stuck tape

might have to remove bottom of vcr and manually move the drive motor by the belt or the pully. if the bottom doesn't come off, you'll have to remove the top. usually screws on the side bottoms and one in the back. you can reach the motor from there.

I accidentally inserted a tape in backwards and/or upside down, and it appears to be stuck in there. I can't get the metal casing that encloses the tape to raise up and open. When i push the 'open/eject'...

You should open the tape holder meatal ther may be 4 screw! take it off! and release your tape! don't do it again with the power on it might get damage inside! enjoy man n try it!

Tape seems to be stuck to itself, I can't free it up

I think you are refering to the tape itself in the VHS cassette and it not being stuck inside the Video itself!
So if you are... don't use the spray... video cassettes have a brake system inside them. It sometimes breaks. If you turn the cassette upside down so you can see the white reels, inbetween them near the bottom (where the side label goes) you will see a small hole. If you put a pen inside it should release the reels so you can turn them with your finger. If they don't turn it may be broken. In which case... Get hold of a blank tape, the same length as yours. Carefully remove the screws (5) on the bottom. See how it's put together. Once you understand how the tape moves etc. Take out the reels with the tape, then dismantle your video and put the reels with the old tape into the new holder. It should work as good as new.
PS try not to touch with fingers the tape.

Paper stuck inside cd slot

There is no need to open up the console! Get someone to hold the PS3 upside down (so the disc slot is facing down) then get 2 butter knives insert them carefully one on the left and one on the right of the disc slot. Now gently push the knives away from each other so that the one on left goes left and the one on the right goes right. You will feel them push the brackets that hold the disc in. As you push the brackets you will release the mechanism that holds the disc in and it should just drop out. I did this with mine when my little boy decided to put a credit like card in it!
