I get exactly the same problem with my S880 camera. I place it on the docking tray and the charge light flashes red indicating that it is not charging.

when i put my camera on the charging station it has a red light come on and then less than 20 seconds later a flashing red light comes on. i read through the manual and there was nothing about a red flashing light. i left in on the charger for a while to see if it would charge but it did not. when i look at the pictures while the camera is charging the battery symbol comes up on the screen and says that it has a full charge. i took out the battery and put it in again and it didnt do anything. help!

I have exactly the same problem. I put the camera on the charge cradle and the charge light comes on red and then in about 20 seconds or so begins to flash and the camera does not charge up. I will contact Casio and see what they can do.

    thank you.

I too have this problem and I am ready to scream! It is my girls' 2 and 3rd birthday tomorrow and I have no camera since it will not charge correctly. I don't have time to get a battery sent to me...can I buy one somewhere?

At first I thought it was my battery as well, so I contacted the manufacture and they sent me a new one. It still was doing the same thing. After some trouble shooting, I realized that it was either the camera dock charger or the camera's connector that sits on the dock not working. I bought a NP-20 battery charger online for about 9 bucks with shipping and handling. My camera works fine now and I have two batteries that work! I don't use the dock charger it came with anymore.

It is worth contacting the manufacturer directly as you may be entitled to get a free battery if still under warrenty. I contacted casio support line in the UK and provided some details of purchase, battery number etc and received a new battery free of charge within the week.

It flashes green green green red red green. the red flashes are very quick. Also the lense is stuck out and will not go back in.

keep the camera on with full battery charge, hold the camera in your left hand and whack the base with your right hand, switch on and off the camera immediately, this will if the lens has got misaligned due to knock etc

Redl ight blinking but battery(ies) fully charged

Flashing red could indicate dew sensor (camera has condensation/ damp) or other fault. See your manual Troubleshooting section.

The camera won.t turn on the battery charger blinks red when trying to charge both of my battreies

I had the same problem with flashing red light on my charging dock (within 10 sec after 2nd green light came on). I did fix it. There is a rust brown securing tab that holds the battery in place. Mine must have a broken spring..... So, I put the battery into my camera, pushed securing tab over the battery and then wedged a toothpick tip to keep battery tab in place. Once back on the charger, I had no more flashing red light. The battery is charging correctly. The problem was that the battery was not held down into place correctly. I now just have to unwedge the toothpick tip to remove the battery...but not really an issue at all as I keep the battery in there all the time. Very easy fix!!!
Others suggested to reseat the plastic dock. But mine was secure. Somewhere there is not a good battery connection that is causing the red flashing light. I am thankful to figure it out. Hope this helps you.

I have a HP Photo Smart R707 with a fully charged new battery and the flash won't work. Keep getting charging flash. Any help on this?

The flash mode has to be set.

There are 5 flash modes:
  • auto - flash fires when needed
  • red-eye reduction - flash fires when needed, but there's a pre-flash to minimize red-eye
  • flash on - flash always fires
  • flash off - flash never fires
  • night - flash fires if necessary (and uses red-eye reduction) to illuminate foreground objects, but shutter stays open to record the background by ambient illumination

Flashing red hand keeps popping up, when batteries

The flashing red light is warning you that the shutter speed will be too long for handholding the camera. Put the camera on a tripod or other stable surface, and/or use the flash.

WON"T WORK

sounds like a dead battery. Plug the origional charger into it and the front led (below the flash) should flash red. If the red led in the back of the camera flashes or stays lit, then you have the wrong charger plugged in. (the camera won't power up if the back red/green led is on when plugged in)
