Wont turn off after loosing connection to controller
Im watching a couple of dvd's and suddenly the controller stops to function even if its connected to the ps3 via usb. When i push the ps button on the controller it just blinks. Just bought a new dualshock controller and the same happens to it. When i try to shut down the ps3, the green power lamp just blinks and doing nothing else while the blue lamp is on. Then I'll have to use the switch on the back of the ps3 to restart it. Has this something to do with the last 2 or 3 updates, before that I didn't have a problem?

most in car dvd players have a wire which is connected to the handbrake so that it wont work unless the handbrake is on. (stops you watching films while driving) Try to find a wiring diagram for your unit to find this wire. I am sure that it can be fooled into thinking it is connected but not sure whether it needs to connect to earth(ground) or a positive feed to achieve this.
I determined that the problem had something to do with the timer control because it stopped all of a sudden and it would do nothing. I determined that it was not the lid switch because it will fill with water even with the lid up.I checked that the outlet had power. So it must be an electrical problem associated with the timer control. I took off the panel on the back of the timer and pushed the connection plugs together to make sure there was good contact. One of them must have been loose because it worked right after.I thought I was going to have to buy a new timer control module but it was just a loose connection.I have seven children and my washer and dryer work day and night. I am learning to become my own technician.
Does it suddenly lose signal while you are playing the xbox? sounds like a loose connection on the input board in the tv. but it could be other things. does it lose signal on all inputs or just a couple?
I have a similar problem and got it to work by resetting the player to the initial settings.
To do this, turn the player off. On the front panel
Hold down the STOP button and turn the player back on.
Display will show CLEAR.
You will have to reenter your settings, but it recognizes the USB again.
I just got this to work, so who knows how long it will last.
sounds like a prob in the connection to your steering wheel. the steering wheel has a special connection that allows all the functions on it to be connected via a rotating connection (did i say connection enough...? lol) i dont know the terminology behind it, but that rotating thing is what lets you turn the wheel. Otherwise, regular connections with simple wires would bunch up everytime you turn the wheel. It sounds like something came loose or just lost connection in there..
If your DVD player is separate from your tv, you might have a loose cable plug or connection.
Depending on the type of flicker you have, a vertical circuit loose connection would cause this. If you could connect it to a cable or antenna it might tell you where the problem is located. A faulty circuit in the DVD might cause this too.
