The ozone smell indicates you very likely have a short somewhere in the electronics. This can be very dangerous because electricity is arcing and is a severe fire hazard. Contact a qualified repairman or if you are comfortable with electronics start looking for the short. I do not recommend plugging the unit back in until you have had it thoroughly checked.
