To reset to the factory default settings, press and hold down the MENU key on the side of the TV set for 5 seconds. A menu will appear on the screen with language and etc. If you want to, set everything like it was your first time with the tv.

Hi all could someone help me please I have a philips 42pfp5532d and its stuck in digital tv and when I press menu nothing comes on the screen . What do I need to do ??
Search or call Phillips and see how to reset the TV back to the factory settings. Sometimes its as easy as hitting a couple of keys on your remote. Good Luck

Not possible to select screen modes but Philips logo comes permanently.

Check batteries in remote. Or possibly a new universal remote. I just purchaced a RCA universal remote. Works better than the original factory remote, and easy to program to the correct code.

There is nothing wrong with the TV I assumes. Have you tested it a hard reset? If not do a hard reset and check. Unplug the TV from AC mains wall socket, and re-plug it back after 10 minutes or so. An overnight unplug will be more effective. This must make the TV to a hard reset. If it do not help you, you have to enter its service mode options to make it a factory reset. My Vizio D32f-F1 TV won't turn on. Any suggestions? The LED does not turn on or even blink. I opened it up and found no obvious visual problem or smell. I disconnected the two cables from the power board ADTVI1206XA7 and with AC coming to the board I found 12V at the 8-pin connector, but not 5V. I figured the power board was bad probably wrong and installed a replacement board, which did not change any of this. With the cables attached to the replacement power board, cycling the power switch on/off did not change anything--doesn't turn on, no LED/no blink.
