SOURCE: removing the water pump

Can't answer that specifically, but there is no vehicle that I know of that requires manifold removal to access water pump. Any brackets which must be removed will have bolts to remove them. Don't take hoses off either a/c compressor or p/s. don't turn ps pump upside down or fluid will leak out. Before putting new pump on, make sure that it is identical to one you removed, especially fan flange (which can be pressed on at differing heights, during manufacture) Resulting mis-alignment there will cause you to "eat" drivebelts!
good luck!

SOURCE: Where is the water pump located on a 99 plymouth voyager, 3.0Lit?

I have a 2000 plymouth voyager with the 3.0 ltr. If i am not mistaken the engines are the same, and if that being the case, the water pump is located behind the timing cover. It is also driven by the timing belt, so while in there making the repair to the water pump you should go ahead and throw a new timing belt on there.

SOURCE: 1993 chevy van g20 water pump replacement

you will need some fairly long wrenchs 15mm-16mm to get leverage on the spring loaded serp tesiner put a wrench on the pulley near the belt ? also loosen the 4 fan bolts on the water pump before you remove the belt ? ther are 7 fan shroud bolts you can split the fan shroud ? 2 bolts on the lower right and 2 on the left ? after you do this then you should be down to pulling off the fan and pulley just slides off ? then remove the 4 waterpump mounting boltss, scrape the old gaskets ? when this is done all you have left is to installthe fan studs from the old pump? you do this by screwing down 2 nuts on the stud then with 2 wrenchs lock the nuts together ? then unscrew the bottom nut ? keep doing that till all 4 are replaced? install the gaskets and add some silicone and reverse the process ? hope this helps repost thumbs up !!

How to install water pump

Drain the cooling system.
Remove air cleaner.
Remove water pump belt cover (4 bolts)
Remove water pump drive belt by moving the belt tensioner in the direction which loosens the belt.
Remove the bypass hose
Remove the lower hose and pump cover.
Use remover/installer tool (J-38816), rotate pump assembly clockwise to remove from vehicle.
** this tool may be available for "rent" from your local auto parts store. It is necessary to prevent tearing the new pumps' seal during installation and it make removing a stuck pump much easier. Also, once you return the tool the auto parts store refunds ALL of your money.

WHAT TYPE OF WATER PUMP WILL I NEED FOR A 1997 CADILLAC SEDAN DEVILLE V8 ENGINE

First of all,you will need the Northstar waterpump removal tool, You can get this from most reputable auto part stores and looks like this :-

368f16f.gif

The following link shows a selection of different manufacturers.

http://www.bizrate.com/automotive-repair-tools/northstar-water-pump/

You need to remove the air filter housing and ducting to gain easy access to the pump.

Remove the shield covering the pulley and belt. The belt is easily removed by levering the tensioner pulley.

The water pump is located at the lower radiator hose manifold where you will also find the thermostat.Remove the manifold cover and you will see the water pump.

Insert the removal tool over the pump making sure it is locked in position. You will need to use a breaker bar on the removal tool and turn the tool CLOCKWISE to release the pump (1/4 turn), or if you imagine the breaker bar being vertical, push towards the windscreen of your car,it takes quite a bit of force to unseat the pump hence the use of a breaker bar.

As for the waterpump itself, DO NOT buy anything other than AC DELCO as they are the highest quality and is a genuine GM replacement part.

Water pump part number AC Delco 252707

Installing the new pump does not require as much torque as removing the old one.
Tighten the new pump to 73 ft.lbs. making sure it is seated properly before tightening.

Don't forget to clean out the water pump housing prior to installing the new pump and don't forget to include a new water pump gasket and housing cover gasket.

It is also a good idea to install a new thermostat while you're at it.

Regards.

  1. Clean all parts well. Use care when scraping gasket material from the front cover and the pump. Do not gouge aluminum parts. Clean the bolt threads well. The torque specification is low and if the bolt threads are dirty, an accurate torque is not possible and leaks are likely to develop.

  3. Install the water pump pulley and bolts and torque to 18 ft. lbs. (25 Nm).
  4. Install the remaining components in the reverse order of the removal process. When refilling the cooling system, use the proper mix of DEX-COOL® and water. Check for leaks.

How to remove and install a water pump on a 2001 Dodge Stratus with a 2.4 ebgine

Remove radiator and fan and anything that will block you from getting to the water pump. Take pictures of each step that you disconnected all parts getting to the water pump and the removal of the water pump with a digtal camera and take the pump to the parts dealer so that you get an exact match. Next read the instructions that come with the pump. Clean all old gasket and glue off of the place where you will install the new water pump. Next take your last picture you take and reverse the order and reinstall the gasket/sealer and water pump and all other parts. Use a tork wrench on the bolts. Add water and anti-freeze to the radiator and start the car and look for leaks.
