Hi...would like to ask you pls, i have an acer aspire and thought the battery was off, so got a new one and still the orange battery light keeps on flashing. is it an internal problem or just the battery..thanks for your help
My Acer did the same thing when I had it. I also replaced the battery. I later found out that it is very important to have ALL of the Acer speciffic software i.e. empowering framework, epower management, etc. You will also probably need to install .net framework 1.1 as well. After I did all of that and rebooted my laptop recognized the battery and began charging. It worked fine after that. It's a start and it's free. Good luck.

when orange light is on it means it is charging and to know whether your system is charging just look at battery symbol where you will find a wire symbol on battery which show it is charging and when charge is complete orange light turns blue
start your computer keep pushin f2 now youll see first use arrow keys go to were it says change reboot to f12 then restart your computer then it be set on a f12 press f12 then it will ask to run your windows go to that one.
maybe. isolate it first. try using new battery. if the blinking lights stops, then it needs new battery. if the blinking do not stop check the power adapter maybe that is the defective. it did not give enough power to charge the battery.
Try to connect your PC with the battery on the power outlet if it lights and charge normally. If the lights still orange, try to open the hard disk case and pull it out then try to put it in place again. If still doesn't go, try the memory card and clean it.
But I suspect that the battery has been overly charged. Try to look for another battery of the same model if it works with another and new battery.
Most likely your battery is dead. If you are worried about your HD , the best thing to do would be to power it off. Remove the battery and see if it will boot on the AC adapter. If it boots , just get a new battery. If not you have a motherboard issue and need to call Acer if it is under warranty.
Right click anywhere on the desktop, open the screen saver tab, click on the power button at the bottom. You'll see a box that reads monitor, set this to never. That should take care of the screen shutting down. As far as the orange light, I'm guessing that's the battery light, and it's time for a new battery.(It should be green and flashes orange when the battery no longer works properly)
