Mitsubishi WS-48311 projection model. It started turning off for no reason and I would turn it back on while watching a program. Then it went off and will on come back on. Then you press the power button the green light comes on for a second then goes off. There is no action on the screen at all.

Gtl545,

This model has a known defect. The power supply board and DM boards have failed electrolytic capacitors. No spares are available from the factory. Fortunately there are after market repair kits available. I have a tip at http://www.fixya.com/support/r7065906-mitsubishi_turn_flashing_power_timer which explains the problem as well as where to get parts.

Thanks for using FixYa and for the great rating.

I have a WS-48311, lrss then 8 yrs old. When you turn it on the power light comes on and goes out in a few seconds.

Could be just end of bulb life. with it being 8 years old. get a manual for it and look in there what is suposed to happen at the end of the bulb life.
