The yellow wire is your memory wire and needs to go to a source that is still hot (still has power) when the key is off.

I have bought a JVC-R322 CD Receiver for my daughters Renault Clio and it connected to the existing cabling with no problems. However everytime I turn off the ignition and turn it back on again, the unit...

The vehicle has a constant power source that needs to be connected to the radio. If a fuse has disconected the circuit then you will lose your "memory" for your radio. Look in the owners manual for the fuse box locations. Use a light to find the fuse that has disconnected the circuit.

Why does my jvc kd-r526 reset to factory default everytime i turn it off

Try connecting the yellow wire to a constant power source. That is, a source that still has power when the key is turned off. The yellow wire controls the memory of the radio.

JVC kd-s590

you need to have whoever installed the unit connect the YELLOW (memory) wire on the back to a constant 12 volt power source. It is hooked up right now to only have power when the key is on. this is why when you turn off the key, you loose memory.

what kind of car is this in... I can tell you what wire goes to what color if you cant figure it out.
