The problem you have described occurs due to a faulty LCD controller(T-CON) board. The board is inexpensive(costs around 40$) is easy to replace. Let me know if you wish to do it yourself so that I can help you find a replacement part and fix it.
if its blank you have to replace the lcd screen with a new one.

you can just buy an lcd screen off ebay, replacing the lcd screen yourself isnt hard with the tools provided. you just have to take the ribbon cable from the old lcd screen and insert the new lcd screen and plug in the ribbon cable for it.
the reason for original Nokia n95 8Gb lcd screens being so expensive to repair/replace is that it is also the same lcd screen used for the Nokia N96.
Hey chellz, You can most likely get the LCD screen on your camera replaced, but I will say that digital camera repairs often exceed the value of the camera. It wouldn't hurt to get an estimate done though. To get an estimate done you could bring it to a Geek Squad® precinct in a Best Buy™ store and they can send it out to get an estimate done.
