I have a HP C5180 all-in-one printer connected to a Network. It keeps changing the IP address AND going offline on it's own. I can change the IP address to what the network says it is, but I can't figure...

Hi,
You can set Static IP address according to your network

When you will press the Setup Menu and go to Network Menu You will find an option which says Ip address there you can assign Static IP address

Once done that may be your printer will go offline again and you can set it online by right clicking on the printer and selecting "Set Printer Online" option (Assuming you have Windows OS
tip

Wireless printer goes offline

Let's set a static IP address for the printer:<br /><br />- Print a Network Config Page from the front of the printer. Note the printer's IP address.<br />- Type that IP address into a browser to reveal the printer's internal settings.<br />- Choose the Networking tab, then Wireless along the left side, then the IPv4 tab.<br />- On this screen you want to set a Manual IP. You need to set an IP address outside the range that the router automatically sets (called the DHCP range). You can change the DHCP range of the router using its internal settings page.<br />- Use 255.255.255.0 for the subnet (unless you know it is different, if so, use that)<br />- Enter your router's IP (on the Network Config Page) for the gateway and first DNS. Leave the second one blank.<br />- Click 'Apply'.<br /><br />Now, shut down the router and printer, start the router, wait, then start the printer.<br /><br />After this you may need to redo 'Add a Printer' using the new IP address.

My printer went offline; once I placed it back online it will not print

Hi

As you have not provided me any information about the setup and also no information about the unit. However I will still like to perofrm few troubleshooting steps.

If your printer is a HP and is connected in network then I request you to perform below steps.

1. Print a network configuration page from the printer front panel.
A. Press the Setup button.
B. Press the arrow buttons to select Network and then press OK .
C. Press the arrow buttons to select Print Network Configuration Page and then press OK. The Network Configuration Page prints.
2. Note the IP address on the printer.
3. Please open the printers folder located in the control panel
4. Right click on the icon and select properties
5. Select ports tab and click on create new Port button.
6. Select the Ports tab, and then click Add Port. Select the standard TCP/IP Port and create a new port. Type the IP address of the Printer and proceed with the onscreen instructions.

Now try printing.

Yours,
Roger

"brother mfc 7840w printer goes offline and i cannot print need turn printer on and off.

The solution, and it took me a long time to find the simple solution, is to right click on your printer, click properties, click the ports tab and click on your Brother printer and click on configure port (or you can delete the existing one and then add another one). What you want to do is update the IP Address. The problem is that the printer does not have a static IP address, it is dynamic. If you want to confirm that, go to your printer and press the reports button and print out the network configuration report. Your IP address will show on that. It's really the last digit in the IP address that changes. This will absolutely solve your problem. Good Luck!

HP LJ4100 network printer

Hi dpotter,
I presume at least the printer's Ready light is on. Click on Start|Settings and select Printers and Faxes. Right Click on the printer and select Use Printer Online (if printer is online, then this should be "Use Printer Offline").

Cannot print with wirelessly networked printer

hi,

if printing from 2 other computer works fine, will i think its not an issue of IP address which changes somehow. but anyways, try to check if you still have other printer drivers under "PRINTERS" (see control panel). it should say HP Photosmart c6100 series. If you also have there a printer icon that says HP Photosmart c6100 series Copy1, try using it (right click on that icon and choose Set as Default Printer). If you only have HP Photosmart c6100 series under PRINTERS, try to right click, then choose properties. When Properties box is open, click on PORTS tab. then click on configure ports below. Try to type in the IP address of the printer under "Printer Name or Host name or IP address". make sure that you already printed network configuration page to get the exact ip address of the printer, Dont know how to print? do this.

PRINTING NETWORK CONFIGURATION PAGE
1. press setup, then scroll down and look for Network.
2. press okay on network, it will give you the first option "VIew network settings".
3. press okay on it, and it will give you the first option "Print network configuration page."
4. choose that and press okay. it will print the network config page. from this document, you will be able to see the IP address of the printer.

Please let me know if the issue is still not resolve so that i can go ahead and give you another possible solution.

Thank you so much.
