My N500B fridge freezes fruit and veges on anything but the top shelf no matter what the temperature setting. The fuller the fridge the worse the probelm. We now have it set at 2 as this works best without freezing the other shelves. It is quite cold on the bottem shelf (above vege bins) and much warmer at the top. Also, it seems to dry the fruit and veges out on the top shelf. It is 17 years old. Cheers Lynn and Struan

We fixed the leak by putting a pipe cleaner down the hole inside the fridge, at the back. This cleared the tube as it had gunk and grime blocking it. Now the water can run freely down the tube and into the drip tray which is at the back of the fridge above the motor.

While staying with a friend that had this problem we assaulted the fridge. Pulling everything we could apart. After finding this link http://www.stokes-aus.com.au/StokesAP/Manufacturer_Info/FP/FRIDGES/517579%20%20Series%20R%20N308R,308XR,325TR,369BR,375TR,395BR,400HR,4.pdf which had a parts list similar to the fridge we had. Pulled out the Defrost timer paragon located next to the compressor. After giving it a good shake it started making ticking sounds again. It appears that it is semi-faulty in our case and had stopped working.

I suggest turn it to lower temperature, so that water won't drip down. You can get rid of the hardness by keeping those things out of the unit for about half an hour before using, so that it may lose some coldness and become soft.

Normally this is caused by the evaporator drain being clogged with frozen water or other particles and needs to be cleaned.also need to make sure that the defroster is not on at the same time it is in a cooling mode
