Question about HP Office Equipment & Supplies

1 Answer

I am getting an error message of "pump motor stalled" on my HP C7280 printer. I tried the fix of unplugging the power cord & shutting down, then followed the reconfiguration steps I got on your site, but got the same error message again when I powered up. I've had the printer for ~ 3 yrs, so I know it's not under warranty. Do you know approximately what it would cost to replace the pump motor? And is there even anyone in my area (Orlando, FL) who does that type of work? Thanks in advance for your time & expertise!

Pump motor is a non-replaceable other option but to get another printer.

My Hp all in one priner C7280 does not start, it never finishes the starting sequance, before giving an error, a blue screen with an error number that chanes everytime I re-start or bush the on/off...

in the case of error, the first thing to do is to reset the printer. Follow the below steps to reset the printer:

Without turning off the product, disconnect the USB cable from the rear of the product.
Remove the cartridges from the product.
Wait for the 'Insert Cartridges ' message to display on the control panel.
Disconnect the power cord from the back of the product.
Wait 60 seconds.
Reconnect the power cord. If the product does not automatically turn on, press the Power button.
Reinsert the cartridges, and then close any open doors on the product.
If you receive a prompt to print a calibration page, do so.
Reconnect the USB cable to the rear of the product, and then try printing again.

Or, completely uninstall the printer from the system, re-install it, then try again. I hope you have the printer's software.

First, go to Start > control panel > printers.

Right click on each printer icon you see, scroll to delete and click. Make sure all the printer there are deleted.

Go back to control panel, click on program and features (for windows vista/7) or Add/Remove Programs (win xp).

Disconnect the printer cord from the computer.

Uninstall every driver/software that is associated with the printer.

Restart your computer.

After your computer has been restarted, install the printer driver afresh and connect the printer to the computer.

If this doesn't solve the problem, you will have to download Hp diagnostic utility on your your computer, install is on your computer and it will help to detect and solve the problem.

Visit the hp link below, read all the information on the page and download the diagnostic tool from the page.

Good luck.

HP C7280 printer: "Pump motor stalled" error

This means there's a failure in your printer's pump motor.
If you are still under warranty, contact HP's Customer Service here :
If not, you can try your local computer store for a check-up but they'll probably suggest a new printer.
Hope this helped.

My printer has a "Pump Motor Stalled " message. It

Hello. First of all you have to "Reset the printer" to factory default. To do this, you have to press and hold # & 6 at the same after you push the "Power" button. Hold the # & 6 keys till to see the power led blinking. The printer will reset to defaults and give it 1-2 minutes to warm up and prepare its software. After this check if your printer is working properly. If not, open the access door and check if there is a paper jam inside(left or right) behind the cartridges. If not again, buy a Blower( a machine that blows air with a lot of power) and use it to clean the interior of your printer. After this buy some lubricant and insert it with attension where you see cogwheels. After all those things your printer will work without any problem.

I have an HP Photosmart C7280. The printer will not turn on. Every time I try a blue screen comes up on the display and then all of the lights start flashing.

1. unplugged the power cord for 20 seconds (actually went a little longer)

2. Held down the # and 6 keys together and then plugged the power cord back in (still holding the keys).

3. held down # and 6 for about 10 more seconds after plugging the power cord back in and didn't get any messages but once and release them It was able to turn the power on.

The printer then printed an alignment page

hope it works, if so do rate the solution

Pump motor stalled

My advice would be that if your printer is in warranty then call up HP Total care as u
will get a replacement if the issue is not fixed over the phone. But if the machine is Out
of warranty, then you can try the following:
Make sure the printer is connected directly to the wall socket(No Porwe Surge or anything).
1) Power Drain: Unplug the power cord from the back of the printer, then press & ho;d the
power key for 30 seconds, then release the key & plug in the power cable back.
Check if the problem is resolved.
If Not
2) Partial reset: Unplug the power cord from the back of the printer again. Press and hold
the # and 3 keys together and while holding them plug the power cord back in.
Check if the problem is resolved.
If Not
3) Semifull reset: Unplug the power cord from the back of the printer again. Press and hold
the # and 6 keys together and while holding them plug the power cord back in.
Check if the problem is resolved.
hope fully the problem will be fixed by this. Please let me know

Hp c7280 all-in-one printer will not shut off

I'm assuming your printer power button will not shut the printer off. You can unplug the power connector from behind the printer if it won't shut off via the power button or power switch.

Performing a power reset
  1. Press the On button to turn off the HP All-in-One.
  2. Unplug the power cord from the back of the HP All-in-One.
  3. Unplug the power adapter from the wall outlet and wait for 30 seconds.
  4. Plug the power adapter back into the wall outlet.
  5. Plug the power cord to the back of the HP All-in-One.
  6. Press the On button to turn on the HP All-in-One.
